   If in Lisbon, be sure to attend a Fado session. This Portuguese music genre is characterized by mournful tunes and lyrics. It is a kind of longing, and conveys a complex mixture of mainly nostalgia, but also sadness, pain, happiness and love. Really unmissable!

Anyway, this company operate 2 city tours, one for the old sites of the city and... more Well, I knew I was getting old when the thoughts of parking my bum on a comfy bus seat to view the city was preferable to walking around with a map under the blazing sun (ok, so slight exaggeration- but it was hot!) Anyway, this company operate 2 city tours, one for the old sites of the city and the other for the new sites of the city, such as the Oceanarium. We took the old tour and liked it, purely because it gave us an idea of the layout of the city and of things we wanted to see. It is a hop-on/ hop-off tour like most European cities have and your ticket is valid for the day. So if you prefer a cool breeze and no excercise to pounding the streets in an aimless fashion, this is for you!close

   This oceanarium is definitely a place for kids, no matter what age! Located in the 'new' area of Lisbon along the river front. We spent about an hour in here looking at every type of fish and even the odd otter. Its worth a visit more so because of it's location. Take a wander down the river... more This oceanarium is definitely a place for kids, no matter what age! Located in the 'new' area of Lisbon along the river front. We spent about an hour in here looking at every type of fish and even the odd otter. Its worth a visit more so because of it's location. Take a wander down the river front, grab a coffee or take a trip on the cable cars. Get to the Oceanario early though before it gets too crowded and impossible to see anything in comfort.close
