Nice location nearby airport and all telcos in Lisbon. Easy access to metro if you want to visit downtown as well.

I was surprised to find a nice hotel in great surroundings: the World Expo area (of 1998?). The architecture of which this hotel is part is fabulous, with world-renowned Santiago Calatrava having designed the spectacular railway station next-door, and perhaps some of the other buildings as well. Lisbon's perhaps major shopping mall (the Vasco da Gama) is around the corner, as is the beautiful world expo park/sculpture garden. Not to mention the lagoon. Try to get a room as high as possible to enjoy the dawning over the water. The room standard was also a nice surprise, considering the rates. Breakfast was good, but not more. Walking to the airport takes around 30 minutes, and was a pleasant morning stroll. If you're, like me, staying only to wait for air transfer over-night, this is perhaps the best choice. I never tried to see central Lisbon though; if that's the object, go for something more central.close
