The building is wonderful, excelent breakfest, dorms very clean and new and the staff is very friendly. The only "problem" can arise due to the location (repleted of party and pubs), with a very big noise and drunk people :-)

It was very fine there!! I liked it, that it was in the City Centre and the People from the Alface were very nice and helped us with City Informations. Everyday, when we came home, our room was clean and the towels fresh. The breakfast was exellent for one hostel. So take your own look at it!!

All rooms seemed to have windows. We had a room with a window to the norte street (double bed, shared bathroom). breakfast: typical not-so-big portugese hostel breakfast: just toast, no bread; well this time real fresh coffee, which was good; cannot remember ham or cheese. --------- The location is both stunningly perfect but rich in contrast: if you arrive at the hostel during the day, you might think you are somewhere nowhere in the middle of small narrow streets, and it could be dangerous to go out there in the night… But - as you might guess by noticing all these music posters - you are wrong, because this street becomes to one of the party streets of the trend district bairro alto at night ! The night of the day we arrived, there was a very big party there, and we realised why they sell ear plugs at the reception..! so best suitable for party people, not so ideal if you want to sleep early or have a sensitive sleep. The rooms with window to gaveas street are a bit more quiet by the way, which we also tested in a four bed room. ------------ One very important hint, concerning the location: when you arrive in lisboa, then take (a taxi or) the metro - but make the hell sure that you get out of the metro at the station baixa-chiado, and not go out at metro station restauradores, though it might look closer to the hostel on the map than baixa-chiado. It isn't!! what you can't see in the map or at google earth is that bairro alto is, compared to the cities "main" streets (prata street etc.), is high up on a hill. If you have to walk that with your luggage it is not a big effort from metro station baixa-chiado than from restauradores, where you have to walk zig-zag and many stairs. ------------- Another hint: from the hostel just walk 7 minutes down to cais do sodré station and take the cheap train to the sea! all in all we would very much recommend this hostel.close

this place is ridiculous. could be great if it was actually finished. its like someone came up with the idea to open a hostel...started it...then ran out of money and decided to rent out the very unfinished product to help finance the rest.

Very good location for the bars and side cafes of lisbon. Staff are knowledgeable and very friendly. It's a bit cramped around reception and breakfast is a case of first come first served!

It will probably be a good hostel when the construction will be ended... Because for now, it's very small, there's no real kitchen and you have to sit on the floor. Don't expect to sleep well during the night cause it's really noisy.

Quite small and noisy at night due to the situation of the hostel. If you don't plan to party at nights, choose another hostel as the street of that one will be noisy until 5ish on Friday and Saturday nights!
