The stuff was great- nice and helpful, but the bathrooms and the kitchen were dirty, they didnt even provide the stuff forthe guest to clean the shower or the dishes.

Owner and staff are fantastic! Good location, and the hostel has a good vibe. Showers were a bit small, but a small thing to critisize. Breakfast was good - toast, tomatoes, ham, cheese, nutella, corn flakes, free tea & coffee all day. There were a few cool organised things, like the owner... more Owner and staff are fantastic! Excellent fun here, good atmosphere, clean as, the bbqs on friday are awesome!!! staff are really friendly and know heaps!!! cant recommend this place enough :)

Great hostle I have ever stayed! The staffs give us helpful infomation about Lisbon and enthusiasticly arrange interesting activities every night for customers, such as : BBQ on Friday evening, listening to the famous Lisbon Fado in the Bar for free ... etc! Johnie was a great guy and did everything he could to help us. I would definitly come back there. It is a small and cute place where you can get to know everyone and hangout. The location is great and loved it there.

it was unhappy time for me because they were not honest pepole and it was unfair also location is very far away from the famous sites. around the Jonney's place there are nothing to see. just they want to money money money everytime whenever. so I don't want to go there again. no never

Loved staying at Johnies place, kinda like living in a really cool share house, really laid back and Johnie and his crew are really cool and helpful. We didnt really want to leave. Friday night BBQs are great!!!

bathrooms need improvement breakfast was excellent, so was the kitchen. we felt quite at home during our stay of 2 nights.

A nice place with an even nicer host! John was so helpfull and provided such a comfortable atmoshpere to be in. I would highly recomend this place to anyone.

Johnie was exceptionally helpful and friendly, and made our stay excellent. Staying with him is just as comfortable as staying at a friends house. Breakfast was one of the best we've had.

Enjoyable stay. Definitely recommended to someone looking for a clean and enjoyable hostel environment. If you know little about Lisbon, the host is able to provide you with loads of information and advice to ensure that you get the most out of your vacation. Location is central and very good.

It's a good place if you want to know people in your trip since the hostel has a living-room and a kitchen where you can have dinner or talk with other people. If you want to know Portuguese people is not a good place, the owners are English.

I wish that there was an option for more than 100%, because this hostel seriously had it all! Not only for its location (which happens to be right in the heart of Bairro Alto), the character of the hostel was so welcoming, that I seriously didn´t realize I had left home for a vacation in Lisbon!... more I wish that there was an option for more than 100%, because this hostel seriously had it all! Not only for its location (which happens to be right in the heart of Bairro Alto), the character of the hostel was so welcoming, that I seriously didn´t realize I had left home for a vacation in Lisbon! The staff, however, were seriously some of the BEST people I have encountered--helping us out with EVERYTHING, taking us to FREE fado shows, hanging out/having a coffee with everybody, and anything else at all to make our vacations soo amaazing! I would recommend this hostel to absolutely ANYBODY and EVERYBODY and I would say that one of my reasons for having so much fun in Lisbon was because of this hostel and staff! Thank you Johnnie, Hannah, Monica, and Marta!!close

Lovely little place with lots of character. The owner and is family make you feel at home immediately and are very helpful with tips on the city. Had a great time there! Good breakfast.

An excellent place very good located, very clean and nice people, the only problem I found is there are no windows in the dorms and there are only two bathrooms, not enough when the hostel is full.

Johnie's Place was WONDERFUL. The staff was so nice and friendly and I can't imagine my stay in Lisbon without them. I would WHOLEHEARTEDLY recommend Johnie's Place to anyone looking for a warm, friendly place to stay.
