Highly recomend as a short stay, 3 to 4 days, on route to Berlin.close

42 days in Leipzig can be very hectic - there's a lot to see and do. Bach recitals at Thomaskirche, views from the 34-storey University tower, 16th century bars, a great Art Gallery and of course the museum of coffee. Partying is easy too with lots of bars and at least one cheesy nightclub to...more 2 days in Leipzig can be very hectic - there's a lot to see and do. It's not worth the money you think you might save as it's way too far out of town. It's a hassle. I'd put location at 15% and not higher. It's a long walk to the tram and the ride costs almost 2 Euros and it takes a good half hour too. In all honesty cleanliness isn't the best either and some of...

– posted on Dec 2007 2Very clean, new facilities make this a good value budget hotel. However, it's located out of the city and there's nothing else (food, attractions) nearby. From the centre it's a good 30 minute tram ride then a 15 minute walk. Probably excellent if you have a car.

Stern Hotel 76%
Strangely located behind a petrol station in the industrial area of Leipzig. From town, by Sbahn (train) 20 mins, and the last evening one is at 23.01. However, comfortable rooms, excellent value for money, especially as all you can eat breakfast buffet is included.

– posted on Sep 2008 5A bit too far from the centre but not too longer journey on the s-bahn. Also...this hostel is in an industrial area which may put people off but for me it was fine. A good, clean hostel - just a shame it was far from the centre
