There is loads to see with all the casinos there and the bright lights of the city. Every one already knows a few stories about vegas before they even go and generally they are all true. The water shows outside the Bellagio are definitely worth seeing while you are there and if you are looking for a day out of the city, go and visit the hoover dam and the grand canyon. This is definitely somewhere I am going back to.close

It was nightime and we had just spent 4 hours on the road looking at nothing much more than desert and the odd cactus plant and suddenly there it is! Bright lights, big city. Literally! Las Vegas truely is a wonder, and it really never does sleep, your sense of time gets really warped here, it could be 12 o'clock at night or 3 in the afternoon when you are inside. The people are loud, the casinos are loud..but there loads of things to do and see that dont involve gambling, its safe and most of all, FUNclose

I dunno, maybe it was me but I just didn't really get Vegas. I don't gamble (I put $1 in a machine pressed the wrong button and got a voucher for $1 - so I won !! lol) I mean it has to be seen, it is an amazing sight and there's is something about light bulbs at night and it was very clean...more I dunno, maybe it was me but I just didn't really get Vegas. The first thing that hit me was the heat. 50 degrees Celsius on the day we arrived. Like a furnace. The city itself is mental. All lights and all action. Make sure to take in one of the many shows and visit some of the bigger casinos like Circus Circus and the MGM. Also took a ride on the huge roller coaster. Stayed 3 days there - 3 days is enough.close

It's a bit of a dive and we got thrown out after one day for partying to loud at 6 am ( fair enough). it was the best thing to happen. we crossed to the sahara much nicer. It doesnt really matter where you stay in Vegas as you can go into any of the hotels and drink and gamble( they actually encourage it) . Had about 400 dollars a day, 200 to gamble 200 to party which is not a lot. But 3rd night won 2000 dollars on roulette and poker machines which made the trip very enjoyable. lost it all again over the week but hey didnt plan on coming home with anything and loved every secondclose

Eiffel Tower Restaurant100%
Well worth every penny of this pricey dinner. The service was superb - formal, attentive and not at all intrusive. The food was to die for. My sister travels the world and complains about everything - not this place. Four of us had dinner, each having something different, with wine and dessert. Of course, the view of the Bellagio Fountain Show completed the...

Fremont Paradise Buffet20%
One of many buffets in Vegas, I said I would give this one a go. Big Mistake… perhaps they mixed up the beef with leather that day. No matter how much I chewed it seemed to get tougher. The salad seemed a few days past its best and the staff were abrupt ... And a 20 minute queue for that? no thanks

Insanity Ride at the Stratosphere Hotel100%
Important to say that I am a pool/spa/restaurant kinda girl, not one to spend $$ on amusement parks or thrill rides. Just want to make it clear where this opinion is coming from! That being said, this ride is a blast - super scary! I nudged my sister into going on it with me and she swore at me the whole time we were up there. I goaded her into it...

"O" Cirque du Soleil at the Bellagio100%
O my! The word "fantastic" is used so much that we all think of it as meaning "great". The true, precise meaning of the word goes something like this: "conceived or appearing as if conceived by an unrestrained imagination; odd and remarkable; bizarre; extravagantly fanciful; marvelous". All of these words and more cannot describe this fantastic show. Sit...

New York, New York Hotel60%
Vegas is Vegas. If you like drinking, gambling, partying then it's the place to go. If you want a relaxing break then you've gotten off at the wrong stop. The hotels are striking if not overwhelming ... after hearing so much about how big they were etc, I found them to be a little bit of an anti-climax. But it's still great fun wandering around the strip to...

Dueling Pianists at New York, New York20%
If you want to pay a cover charge to sit and watch two guys work the audience for tips, then you should go see the Dueling Pianists. Otherwise, save your money for people who actually want to entertain you. These two guys undoubtedly have piano-playing talent, but they try to keep you from discovering that by soliciting a tipping competition from the...
