We took 1/2 hour to find the actual location. We are lucky enough to meet one kind Japanese elderly man. He had sketched out the road for us. We followed his note and reached our destination. I will suggest to give much clearer description of the location. Maybe to put the street name and symbols e.g. traffic lights in your map.close

Normally bath split by gender but if not so many bookings, you can use the bath with partner and close door. We had privat toilet which was very convenient. To most sights you need Bus or Metro, but as everything is close by it is no problem. Good English speaking staff. We can recommend this hotelclose

The location is very very vague...but is near the station. The doors CLOSE at 11 oclock PM and if you arrive later you will sleep as a homeless in the street.

The best location - just minute from main Kyoto station. Something like japanese business hotel, average but fine. Kyoto is beautifull, no doubt.

We had stains on the sheets we were given and there are only three public showers available for each sex. The furnishing throughout the place are shoddy, the curfew is early - at 11pm - and the walls are very thin. The noise in the place went on into the late night and started up in the early morning. There is no baggage storage in the facility and the staff seemed cold at best!close

We spent three nights in Hotel Iida with one year old kid. Location was very good by the silent alley next to the Kyoto station. Warm common bath was nice, but warm water was unavailebale in japanese style room. Staff was helpful and spoke english.

Good place if you have just got off the train and want somewhere to stop. Went for the bath which was ok, better to go to the tourist info, who can sort you out with really good ryokan hotels.

We didn`t know that the shared bath actually was a traditional japanese bath and that we would sleep in a japanese room. When we booked thtat information was not available. Anyway we enjoyed our stay very much!

Typical Japanese lower cost hotel. Convenient location for touring in Kyoto. Rooms and baths are Japanese style. Generally very clean. Very little English spoken by staff. A good place to sleep but that is pretty much it.

We were ages 21to 54 and a 7 yr old. I really enjoyed the character, but would have preferred no time limit for bathing and no curfew.

It's a ryokan, it has tatami mats and communal showers only, so as long as you're prepared for that you should enjoy it. And check in isn't until 3.30pm.

Most rooms are Ryokan-style with communal bathing instead of individual showers - a bit of a shock for the uninitiated!

It's a great hotel for the price and literally just opposite the main Kyoto station, the rooms are spacious and well fitted the only downside was that there was an 11 o clock curfew which is a bit annoying if you want to go out in the evening.
