An excellent hostel for an authentic experience. Located in an interesting and traditional area, with lovely Japanese-style rooms. Excellent value for money. Only complaints are that the room was a bit cold and noisy overnight. But generally excellent. Highly recommended.

Highly recommended. Emi was super friendly host and very helpful. Location could not have been better as central to main temple precinct and walking distance to Gion. Will be using whenever I visit Kyoto again!

The most beautiful host you could hope for. The rooms were brimming with Japanese charm. Cleaniness and security were not a problem at all. The only negative would be the location, a little out of town, but better if you prefer to live to live the life of a local.

It was very close to the old area of Kyoto. Well comunicated and close to the train station by bus. Very clean and felt like home. Only 3 rooms and included breakfast. Run by a family who are very nice and helpful.

Thank you for making our friends first experience of traditional Japanese accommodation a very good one. We really liked the common area and the perk of free coffee and breakfast was fantastic.

Pretty good location right near a bus stop and close to one of the main temples of Kyoto. The husband and wife that run the inn are extremely friendly and kind. The inn does not seem to have many accomodations, so the setting is pretty intimate and meeting the few people there was a good experience.

Excellent, characterful ryokan in a very good spot for visiting some of the major temples. Tatami floors, futon and sliding doors provide a great traditional experience. On a quiet street. Very friendly and helpful staff. I'd definitely recommend it.

A really nice ryokan to stay in while you are in Kyoto. Friendly chatty owners! Free breakfast every morning which was a bonus. Close to lots of sights, though a bit of a walk into town! Would recommend if you fancy somewhere with character.

Very friendly people, the woman was very helpful, provided a map and even ordered us a taxi. Breakfast and internet access is included. The location is right next to a must-see sight: the Kiyomizudera temple and the old streets. Also very close: the Geisha district Gion.
