Awsome place! stayed three nights and was kind of sad to leave! Good sized rooms! outstanding friendly service... the owner drove us to the station at the end of our stay because we had such heavy bags! Will definately stay here again on our way back through kyoto!

We LOVED this place! If you want a traditional style Japanese living arrangement while staying in Kyoto, I HIGHLY recommend Guesthouse Bon. It may be hard to find, but the house itself was very charming, and the owner is a very helpful and friendly man. Great place!

1. The host is very friendly and kind to share all the information to visitors. 2. The room is very clean, and the host is very considerate to help you ready for your sheets. 3. However, the location is a little far from city center, if you are people who like night life, you may not enjoy...

Great place to stay and the owner is very helpful with giving tips on where to go and where to eat! I highly recommend renting the bicycles and seeing all the sights that way.

He took time out of his day to show a genuine interest in what we were planning and offered very useful hints and tips as well as invaluable help with the language! The room was spacious and clean and it really felt more like staying with a family than in a hostel. We cannot reccomend this place enough. it is quite a way north of Kyoto downtown but is perfect for the Northwest, North Higashiyama and Arashiyama areas. We found buses to be quick and easy (around half and hour to central station) and Mr Bon was really helpful regarding best routes to take. All in all a fabulous few days and we would definitely stay here again should we return to Kyoto.close

Taniguchi-san was a really good host, he helped a lot when we opened Kyoto's map in the commom room and helped us to plan next day's route. Also to rent a bike there and discover the city as a highlight. Thank you!

The room was cozy and the common room was a great place to meet and chat with other guests. We can't say enough about the family that runs the place. They were so friendly and helpful with directions and suggesting places to visit and their English was very good. The only downside is the location which is 30-40 minutes from Kyoto station by bus or subway which made it a chore to make side trips to nearby destinations. Overall I would recommend Guesthouse Bon to anyone looking for an inexpensive accommedation for any length of time in Kyoto. Thanks so much for a great experience!close

A very nice and homely place to stay, with lots of character and a very friendly owner! He even offered to drive us to the subway station because we we're in a hurry to catch the Shinkansen to Hiroshima ;-) Recommended place if you're looking for a relaxed home in Kyoto

I didn't have any difficulty finding GH Bon and I don't think it's out of the way either, not when you have the friendly and knowledgeable Kazuo to help you. I *walked* to the golden pavilion from here. Overall an excellent place to stay.

The owener was REALLY helpful, I`m not sure where he found the energy to be so nice and helpful to everyone who came to visit...he couldn`t do enough to make my stay enjoyable...including hanging out my wash and offering to make tea numerous times a day!! The directions need updating though as the store name has changed to Daily *** and as I arrived at night and without a map and I didn`t know which way was south, so maybe turn left off the bus would be better.close
