Absolutely massive hostel. Good if you want to meet other backpackers, not good if you hate annoying tourists.

The place was cool and central　to Kyoto station. Staff are really friendly and they have a bar and offer a breakfast in the morning. Only downside was the matresses on the bunks were not thick enough so it was like sleeping on the wooden bars. But cheap and cheerful

Nice double room. Good rates. Very clean, and modern, would recommend to all visitors to Kyoto. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Also have very good rates for hiring bikes, 100 yen per hour, which is the best way to get around and see Kyoto. Gion is only 10 minutes ride away!

Extremely clean hostel. I like the mini private area outside the shower cubicle, extremely useful for one to change after showering (as the showering cubicle is small and clothes will most likely get wet if you hang them inside). We loved this hostel! It was clean, the rooms were quiet, and the staff was fantastic! There was also a really fun bar area and a big lounge for hanging out. We would recommend this place to anyone visiting Kyoto. We have been traveling for four months now and this was the best hostel we've visited.

great place to come back to after a full day of sightseeing around Kyoto. The staff were terific wkd made calls to check opening hours and directions for me. Highly recommend this place.

This is a fantastic hostel! It's a 10 minute walk from Kyoto station. It has a lovely warm atmosphere, big commom room, is impeccably clean, spacious and comfortable. Despite being a very social place it's still nice and quiet enabling a good night's sleep

Your hostel was the cleanest & nicest hostel i've ever stayed in. I hope to visit again, i bet your tokyo & other branches have the same quality service. YOU WOULD BE HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

Massive hostel, good for a large group of travellers. (Ks in Tokyo better for single travellers) There is a Bar right next to the lobby, that also does breakfast (for a charge). Would definitely stay here again as it is fairly accessable to everything.

Great place to stay, very well maintained, def made to cater to the western traveller. Bar is really good too. Staff is friendly. living rooms and kitchen is great. can be a bit crowded at times.

This was probably the best hostel that I've been to!! The location is excellent - only a few minutes away from the Kyoto station, but it's in a very quiet area, so I had no trouble going to sleep. The staff were all very friendly, and the place is so clean! I would definitely recommend this...

Very nice hostel, very helpful staff. If you do not know if to take a twin or a double room, take the twin room, it has more space and an additional couch in it.

A good, clean hostel in a great location halfway between town and the station.... Double rooms were on the small side but fine if you just need a place to sleep. Laundries, kitchen areas and bathrooms were of a high standard-we would stay there again...

We stayed in 2 hostels in Kyoto and although I really liked K's House it wasn't as good as IchiEnSou (couldn't stay in either place for 6 nights). It was the only place we stayed in Japan with a bar which was both nice and good value. Close to the train station but a bit far from the sites...

Enormous hostel and rooms are a bit small. The best thing about the hostel is the breakfast (680 Yen ~ 5 Euro) in the traveller cafe next door - English / Continental all you can eat & drink breakfast buffet with sausages, potatoes and REAL cheese!

I would say it is the best hostel I've ever stayed, however the guy at reception changed my opinion. He deleted the photos from my memory card, instead of burning on a disc.
