Hot water on shower only between 8-10 am and 20-23 pm. Free internet PC. Very quite location. I think it's the cheapest twin room with own bathroom around Kyoto, so it's good quality price

It was a great place to stay. Was in a very quiet neighborhood that was so quiet for sleeping. It is also conveniently located to central Kyoto. Much of which is in walking distance.

Kitchen very small and unclean... we didn't use it. Everything was as expected after reading other reviews. Would stay there again.

It is not the crazy backpackers place. Rooms are quiet and japanese styled, the kitchen is not bad, the chill out room is so tiny that it is almost inexistant, but try and speak with the staff, they are great, and really, really helpful. And the hostel is so clode to the public bath...

The room was good but the "mattress" was very very thin on a metal bed. I did not slept well (though I'm used to futon and tatamis). Not suitable for anybody with a delicate back.

Perfect location!! Very easy to walk to and from JR Kyoto Station and the central area (Shijo), too. The room was large and had our own bathroom. It had everything we needed as backpackers. Really good enough for the price. All in all, highly recommended!!

area was nice. room was large (10 mats) and had private bath and toilet. staff was friendly. small cons: computer had broken sign on it when it seemed to be working fine, gas stove cost 10 yen, place was a little dilapidated. overall, would recommend though.

fantastic location! in quiet street, close to station etc. Room was fairly dirty, and we had to go and buy our own clean sheets to sleep in. Also smoking is allowed inside - and there is quite often people smoking downstairs, so be warned to those who don;t enjoy cigarette smoke in bed!

The guy who runs the place sits in the front room downstairs and smokes like a chimney - very annoying because you can smell it throughout the whole building. Also it makes it impossible to sit there and relax. It was a good location though.

Great location; within walking distance of Shijo/Sanjo area. Private bathrooms were a plus. Rooms were surprisingly large, but futons were a bit musty. Still, great place to stay for very cheap!

I would advice all travellers to Kyoto to stay away from this hostel at all costs. The staff are unfriendly, the rooms are unclean and the whole place stinks of smoke and is dark and quite frankly horrible. Very disappointing, should be removed from hostel world!!

The rooms were a very nice size (which was good after staying in cramped rooms in Tokyo). Staff was friendly. Location is great, right next to the Gojo station on the Karasuma line so you can get to all the sights and downtown pretty quickly.

Uncomfortable futons, bare bones style rooms that will soon need remodeled, difficult to find though nearby to Kyoto main station, hot water turned off during the day. Good fun if you speak Japanese perhaps. Cheap if all you're looking for is a place to stay and eat in Kyoto with no other...

The staff was very kind. The kitchen was in desperate need of cleaning, and organization. The bathroom for our room had a stinky, mildewed shower curtain. The bedroom ceiling needed repair. However, fantastic location and decent price. No curfew, and spacious bedroom.

It will be most welcoming if there are smiley staff in the guest house, but they have been really helpful though. It is good to have private bath. Also, it will be good if they can be flexible to accommodate guests to check in earlier and not just strictly stick to the stipulated 3 pm. As most of the travellers coming in from Tokyo will most likely arrive early in the morning like 630am if they travel by the expressway bus.close

It is very good for the price (3500 yen) for a single room with attached wc and bath with air-conditioned. The location is good and quiet. But some regulations are given eg. hot water provided from 8-10 & 20-23 and the kithcen opens from 8-22 and 10 yen for 10 min.
