First they could not fing our booking through hostelworld. Then we had payed for a double room but received a cheaper room but had to pay for the more pricey room. Thin walls and close to a nightclub. In other words, impossible to sleep before 0500 am.Staff was not very helpfull

the staffs are kind and patient. the breakfast is good. it's a good place to stay. there are a lot of bars along the street where it's located, you can find fun especially weekends. but if quiet sleeping condition is requested, it's not the best place to choose. at least, to choose the third floor~

fyi - "breakfast" = 2 pieces of toast and small cup of coffee or tea. You get a room and a mattress, everything else is extra charge

On weekends, you can't get sleep easy because of heavy sounds from neighboring bars.

A great hostel but its very noisy being just above a busy city bar. The bar's open til 4am on weekends - ask to be on the second level.

Terrific lounges and friendly staff. My only complaint was the blasting techno all night from the bar below. A pair of ear plugs saved the night, but others might find it problematic.

The only problem we really had with our stay at Pondok Lodge was that there were bed bugs and many of them!!!

We have been travelling for 10 months now and this is one of the best hostels we have stayed at. The location is good, the staff are great and I never had to wait to use the shower in the morning. We had a problem with our booking when we arrived, but it was resolved.

The owner was great and helped out one of our friends who was completely out of it after 3 days flying. She arrived before us and could barely string a sentence together. He looked after her till we got there, great guy! Clean, cool and has a nice garden up top.

The walls are paper thin so you can hear absolutely every sound on the whole floor. Bathroom's were not cleaned often enough, each time I went in the toilet seats were covered in urine. Staff were pretty helpful and rooms are fine but really dark.

Well organised place with helpful staff. Roof top seating area was nice (huge), as was the free breakfast. Place was a little old and the communal areas could do with sprucing up (esp the lighting), but well located for what we wanted and overall good stay.

Our "double" room was actually a twin, no doubles in the hostel at all. Aircon unit shared btween two rooms by cutting a hole in the wall!...so not too much privacy. Great location for food though, don't pay more than 4ringitt for the taxi from the bus station.

Generally a great place to stay with good free breakfast. Roof garden was lovely. Water supply very sporadic (showers regularly not working). Air con is shared between rooms so cant be switched off so rooms very cold.

When i first arrived to my room, or should i say cell, i was abit taken back. Ive never been to prison but im pretty sure their cells would be bigger than my room, plus many prison cells have a window which this room did not (however i have read that many hostels in KL are like this) Also the air con unit was shared between two rooms/cells, therefore there was a damn great hole in the wall to accomodate this in which i could hear everything the other guests were saying, or should i say "up to". Also the air con wasnt exactly air con, i could fan myself cooler than that thing could. Nonetheless, i asked if they had a room with a window and they did and boy was there a massive difference, all for an extra 10R. The room was 3x as big, alot better air con, massive window looking over the main high street. Only thing that this room didnt have which my cell did, was a better door lock, however thats the only grumbly. Staff were lovely, great roof top viewing area, lovely cool chill out rooms, and walking distance to most sites, however 15min walk to nearest tube station which is abit of a pain considering the extreme humidity, 10mins to the monorail. i would recommend this hostel but DEFINATLY ask for a room with a window!!!!!!!!!close

Good location. Close to main attraction and 20 minute walk from bus station but rooms are a bit small. Don't eat at the pub downstairs as it's too expensive. There are plenty of restuarants nearby but the pub normally shows live premiership football. A Good hostel to stay at while in KL

Stayed here twice now, and liked the atmosphere, price, & location of the hostel. Staff are friendly, knowledgable and the hostel's strongest point is the roof top garden. Pick a room with a window - much better.

The rooms upstairs are roomy and comfy, with lots of character. The rooms on the lower (2nd) floor are tiny, hot, and noisy windowless boxes. Pray you don't get stuck in one of those!
