The bathrooms are "interesting" and the ceiling fan is "fast" and big. It felt like a helicopter was right above us. Lets just say it's very basic...from a north american view point. You won't have to sqat in the bathroom though...:)

What a terrible place to stay. Staff were friendly, but place was very dirty, stinky and old. Roof top terrace is a joke.

You get what you pay for, typical backpacker sleeping boxes. Very nice roof top balcony and extremely friendly staff.

Nice staff, but very old. Bathrooms aren't nice, but the rooms are clean. And location is top.

One of the worst budget accomodations I have ever been to. The restrooms and showers were very dirty, you had to bring your own lock for the room.

Well situated in Chinatown, nice rooftop terrace to relax, the place is not bad but lacks charm. The bathroom cleanliness is a bit left to be desire. Staff is kind.

I've stayed here before. It's very inexpensive, and reasonably good. But I think the bathrooms could do with a little work. But still, if your use to low budget backpackers, it's a good place.

I had an excellent time at the travellers home. The evening entertainment on the roof garden provided by john dean and jimi on guitar was great as was the hospitality and right in the heart of the city too.

Never wash look liked window curtain and wall with tainted mark. ask for the new bedsheet and pillow cover for the sanity purpose. You will be waken up in the early morning by the passed by buses or lorries. In the afternoon you are not adviced to stay in the room since it is pretty hot, stuffy and noisy. The heater in the toilet is broken and cleaniless is below average. Beware of the provided breadfast bread expired date before you enjoy your breadfast. Although it is a dorm but dweller should deserve a cleaner bedsheet, curtain and properly maintained room. May be the non dorm rooms are more tidy and cleaner. But the dorm should room should have some basic more acceptable condition even though the dorm rate is cheaper tha the other. With extra US 2 dollar should have a better dorm room in other places.close

The staff are great, the atmosphere is great, the free breakfast (toast, tea and coffee) is served from 9am - 11am, perfect for those late(ish) mornings, and the rooftop hangout is a pretty chilled place to read a book or have a drink. They have a hot shower on demand. Shower and toilet facilities are kept pretty well. The location is ideal (5 mins walk to the main bus station) but the directions are dire, so here it goes... From Masjid Jamek take exit A, cross the little bridge and you should be on the main road, Jalan Tun Perak. Cross the road and walk left towards Puduraya for around 600m, you should be walking underneath the elevated highway. You need to take a right down Jalan Hang Lekiu, looking down teh road you shoul see a crossroads and the Victoria International College (or something like that) about 100m away with a good old 7/11 at the corner. You need to take a left, the hostel is 60m down teh road on the right hand side...look out for the green sign and 'home' painted on the wall! The walk should take about 7 mins. Downsides of the hostel, Im not sure how often the bed sheets (in the dorms) are changed, you may want to ask for clean ones on arrival. Baggage storage is charged at 2RM per bag per day,but they also sell beer cheaper than 7/11! Would stay again and happily recommend it.....enjoy!close
