I dont love the air condition but I do love this place because of the location, friendly staff, and the oppurtunity to meet other travellers in commn areas.

Good spot, well located in Chinatown beside an LRT station. Bit tricky to find though. The walls are parer thin though we were lucky and had quiet neighbours. Also security isnt great, anyone can come in off the street and because the reception is on the third floor they dont have to walk past... more Good spot, well located in Chinatown beside an LRT station. The owners were very welcoming and friendly and easy to chat with. The hostel is right next to the train line, so getting around the city is really easy. The (single) rooms are quite basic, and have no windows but it felt very secure and safe.

Was a second stay at Matahari for myself. Staff were as welcoming as ever (even after bus travel delays meant I unfortunately arrived in KL around 4:30am or so and had to wake up the staff). Others hostels probably wouldn't be so forgiving. Room was great. Very spacious. Nice pad for the mid 30s... more Was a second stay at Matahari for myself. Set in a great location, near Chinatown, very close to Pasar Seni LRT station (which is only one stop from KL Sentral), this backpackers hostel has small but extremely clean rooms, good aircon and excellent shared bathroom facilities. The staff are also exceptionally friendly.

I read the reviews about the hostel before booking, all said the staff there are very helpful. But I was very disappointed as the receptionist is not as good as expected. Lee is fine. Very clean rooms and friendly staff. Room was okay if you just stay tere for sleeping. Nothing inside except the bed ^-^ and no window at all. Good connection to the LTR, which is located 2 min walking.

Great location next to MTR station and 5 min walk from China town. Mann and Lee are two of the friendliest guys I have ever met. When I was having problems with my cards Lee even lent me 100 Ringit. I would definitely reccommend this hostel to all. Great staff, great location, great hostel!!

Good location. Was a little tricky to find at night though, as taxi drivers from Central hadn't heard of this new hostel. Its a nice clean place, rooms are good size with a pretty decent bed and keep cool so you can get a good sleep. The walls are thin so you have to hope that your neighbours are quiet, apart from that, its all good. Having stayed in a couple of other places nearby, I'll be coming back here for my...

Excellent location & very helpful staff. My room was clean and spacious. Showers and toilets were clean. Very close to Pasar Seni Station and all the action on Petaling Street & China Town. Nice lounge area, kitchen and balcony for the smokers among us.

The best thing about this hostel was the location - right next to the LRT, one stop from Sentral station and four from KLCC and Petronas. It was nice having a dining and lounge area. The Matahari was comfortable, its location was excellent and the room was of good value. I would however have rated its cleanliness as 'good' if my sheets hadn't had stains.

it is very nice hostel! I will definitely choose it next time! you know the room is super clean and locate in the central of the city! And the staff there are super nice! Perfect! You also can surf internet by free and ask the staffs to book taxi for you by free

Had a great stay in KL at the Matahari Lodge. Great location and the staff are extremely friendly and helpful. Good base to explore the city as you can walk everywhere and the trains and markets etc are very handy. Night market in little India is not to be missed! Good safe choice here.
