This is a lovely City! I was there in the winter so it was quite freezing. You can see lots of stuff & can take Tours. Definately check out the Market Square. Krakow is also still quite cheap, try and go to some of the local pubs etc. |

Brilliant, easily accessible to get everywhere by foot, there is a huge variety of shops, cafes and sights to go to. Don't pass up a chance to see this city. Go from April on for nice weather. Some of the clubs play very heavy dance music which isn't my scene but if it's your go for your life... All round super city |

I love Krakow. The city center is small and easy to get around and if you like architecture you are in for a treat. The city used to be the capital of Poland until the kings decamped to Warsaw - and it shows: an impressive Royal Palace overlooking the Vistula, beautiful Baroque and Romanesque churches, fine old buildings, a lovely university quarter and the splendid Market Square.
A lovely park called Planty surrounds the old town and it is a very pleasant place to stroll on a sunny day. From it you can nip in and out to the old town to visit the main sights, including the Barbakan and Slowacki Theatre (Opera) in addition to many of the ones mentioned above.
Culturally the city has a good concert hall, some café-concert venues, an opera company based in the Slowacki Theatre (very reasonably priced tickets) and excellent museums. Not to be missed in my view is the Czartoryski Museum, which boasts a very rare Leonardo da Vinci.
Eating out is not a problem in that the city is full of little restaurants, many very competitively priced, but the food is perhaps not quite up to western expectations. Local Polish cooking is quite hearty so you might not want to eat it every day, but you could try Chimera, Pod Aniolami or the chain of rustic Polish food restaurants called Chlopskie Jadlo (some are reputed to be better than others). If you want something lighter, I would not recommend Chinese restaurants in Krakow, but the Italian ones tend to be fine. The Amarone restaurant attached to the Pod Roza hotel is especially good, as is a French restaurant called Cyrano de Bergerac, but the prices there are on a par with western ones…
The Kazimierz quarter is very interesting. It was for many centuries a separate town, heavily populated by Jews and it remained a strongly Jewish quarter even after the town became part of Krakow. Sadly, that made it easy for the Nazis to cordon off and turn into a holding camp-cum-ghetto during the second world war before transporting its population to nearby Auschwitz and other camps. Thankfully Kazimierz is rediscovering its history with tours of its synagogues and other Jewish buildings. There are a number of fine Jewish restaurants in the area now as well.
The city has a large university, one of the most prestigious in Poland, so it has a vibrant population of young students. They and the tourists combined give the place a very welcome buzz. Krakow is the ideal spot for a long weekend or as a base for touring further afield. |

So much of a better city than Warsaw, you can walk everywhere and most local people are quite helpful in stores and friendly, even remember you the next time you visit. |

Surely one of the nicest cities in Europe. The main square is huge, very clean and pleasing to the eye. It's also very easy to find daytrips to nearby places.
Great place for couples, although any stags or hens looking for a wild time would still be better advised to head elsewhere. I'm not sure Krakow is ready for loud groups falling about the place! |

had multiple negative run-ins with locals (drunks in the street in the afternoon) , but english speaking tourists services and restaurants owners were great. Krakow was fine for a quick visit with a stop at Auschwitz but if are between Krakow and Prague... GO TO PRAGUE!! |

Krakow is such a lively city with so many things to do and see. The Rynek Glowny central square is a beautiful plaza with several restaurants, clubs and cafes. The Krakow Bike Tour is by far the best way to take everything in. |

I loved Krakow so much! There are a lot of interesting sights in the area which are not too hard to get to. There is so much to see within the city itself, and it is such a great size, so it's not too hard to navigate! I found that some of the people I met there were really rude, especially if they don't speak english, so try to learn some polish phrases before you go because I think that they might really appreciate that! Check out the Shisha bar, it's great fun! |

Krakow is a cool city to visit.
If you like going out partying on the nights then there are plenty of good bars and clubs, and the beer is cheap (as cheap as 80p during the week to £1.30ish on the weekends).
Or if you\'re more into culture, history and sightseeing then there are also many things to do and places to see (the Salt Mine, Wawel Castle, Auschwitz-Birkenau).
So Krakow is a great city no matter what you\'re interested in.

Good trip, fit a lot of stuff into a few days. Weather really fit the atmosphere of our trip to Auchwitz & Birkenau. Salt Mines were interesting. An eye opening experience and will visit again. May stay further towards the main square although the walk was only about 10mins. Easy to book tickets for visits which also included an english guide and transport! Kebabs were nice too! |

A regular to Krakow. Weather is hard to say average, thumbs up or down. Pretty city during sun and snow.
Good places to eat, although the tourist can be taken for a ride concerning paying premium around the Rynek, (main square). Enjoy. |

It can get very cold in winter. Lots of hostels, good tram network, beer about 5 zl a pint (500 ml). Meal out (e.g. pizza) between 15 and 20 zl. |

I THOUGHT KRAKOW WAS ONE OF THE MOST ENJOYABLE PLACES I\'VE EVER STAYED IN BUT I DO PREFERE SNOW TO SAND AND SEA. IF YOU LIKE THE COLD AND BEAUTIFUL WOMEN EVERYWHERE YOU LOOK TRY KRAKOW IN THE WINTER, I CAN GUARANTEE YOU A GREAT TIME. AUSCHWICH IS NOT SOMETHING YOU WOULD EVER SAY WAS A GOOD DAY OUT BUT IT IS SOMETHING THAT EVERYONE SHOULD SEE AND LEARN ABOUT. THE SALT MINE IS ALSO A GRE3AT DAY OUT, THE CATHEDERAL 100m UNDERGROUD IS TRUELY AWE INSPIRING. BUT DON\'T LET ME TELL YOU, GO AND SEE FOR YOURSELF. |

I hope that you will really read this message.
I think that the unhappy guests booking are canceled in a way they never get a chance to review this hostel.
This is the way this hostel has it\'s sky high rating.
This is simply a con. |

best one in Europe.. |

Would never have guessed it was as great as it was. So much to do, learn, see, eat, drink, you name it! Culturally a significant place with all its history - but so much more than that as well! I wish I could spend more time there! |
Just about my favourite place in the whole world. I love it. Friendly, fun and chilled! |
take a bus or mini van from the bus station if you\'re intending to go to auschwitz.a round trip would cost you 14zl and get a guide from the museum which will cost you 26zl. definitely much cheaper than tours organised from krakow. |

This place is quite simply- Off The Hook!! Such an quality hostel! It was funky, clean and comfortable! Its right slap bang in the center of town, so everything is within little walking distance and just plain easy to get to! The staff are wicked-cool helpful and will do everything to make sure your stay is fine and dandy. Not to mention so HOT that you would want to get on one knee and slip a ring on their finger!! Ania is SO beautiful and was really helpful in booking me a tour- thanks! The nightlife is plain crazy - Chris is a champion! This dude will take you to all the wicked bars and clubs around town and make sure you\'ll have the best times out in Krakow! Cheers Chris, i had a fricking awesome time man! i\'ll definately come back! 100% no less. |

I really enjoyed y say in Krakow. Most of all thanks to the great place I ve found in Travellers Inn Hostel. They found me the best pans in town for concerts and walking tours. Also the bikes for free is something I recommand to visit the city. Specially a ride along the river is something to experience at sunset. |

Such a fun city...wish we could have stayed longer...definitely wish we were still there!!! |

There is loads of history particularly Jewish history here. Read about it before and while you are there to make the most out of your trip. |

Krakow is a small city and all major sights can be covered within a day, other day trips can be arranged worth a visit for a few days |
Krakow is like a city in another city. The old monuments and city lives vibrantly in the current rebuilt city. Furthermore this city emits a warm religious aura, wonderful to heal the soul |

This is the best hostel i have ever stayed in!! The facilities, location and staff are unbeatable.. especially this rocking gorgeous babe called Anka!!! Nothing better than coming home from a big night out and waking up to this polish beauty!!! I planned to stay for a few days but as she enchanted me i stayed for a whole month... money well spent!! |
I would reccomend Krakow to young and old alike. Great place to go |
good city to visit several times, and you can have many cheap and good food here. of course you have to visit the dead camp, and remember go by yourself and spend 4-6 hours there if you can, in spite of joining a guide tour will increase your understanding but it decreases your time in camp. |

It was my first time in a hostel, and was really surprise by the blue hostel, very clean, good and clean bathroom with nice shower, they provide everything and towel(many hostels apparently doesnt do that), friendly and very helpfull guy at reception called Jerzy, always ready to help you; To be honest I can only see good point would definetely going back again |

Like i said fantastic value for money they do your laundry for you for free the breakfast is fantastic (and free), the internet is lightning fast. Plus the rooms are clean and conmfortable, feels like a home from home too its got that personal touch what with the house like kitchen and the living room with the fluffy covers on the sofas |

I was impressed by the numbers of people younger than me who were visiting Auschwitz. My Generation and subsequent generations did not have personal knowledge of the Holocaust nor of the enormous loss and suffring caused. The fact that so many visit to learn of this and feel the pain gives hope that it will never happen again. |
