Very small room upstairs and we were interuped early in the morning by a lady hanging out washing, we booked a private room but recieved a txt message asking if we could share a room but the other guests only found out when they showed up. Vela luka is beautiful but very difficult to get to...

It was a guest room in a families house. Was great. All to myself. No kitchen though, but lots of places to eat cheap in town, right on the places door step.

if you're worried about staying in vela luka, don't be. although it's quiet, you can get boats out to some of the best beaches in croatia & it's a nice, chilled-out place to spend a day or two. this guesthouse is simple and clean, with friendly hosts and good kitchen facilities.

Manuela was so sweet, and while her English is not the greatest I spoke German and her German is pretty good! Only complaint is that it is not signed as Hostel Manuela and we walked past the place twice. Nice big kitchen area and lady was very friendly.

Small dorm rooms but with no bunks which is nice. The owners speak only a little bit of English but good German. They are extremely friendly and the 4 Euro Laundary Service is excellent. I would stay here again. The cooking facilities are also very good.

It was a little BIT DIFFICULT to find the house. They should put something to recognize the place. The minimum is the address number. Otherwise, it's okay to stay.

Seems to have hostel rooms mixed in with local's apartments, but does have a cosy kitchen-dining-lounge-tv room to mix with other guests. Btw, the ferry to Proizd nominally at 9:30, 11 and 1:15 only leaves if they think they have enough customers. Hope you get less wind and more sun there than I did.close

Great location into Vela Luka. Great for relaxation but not great if you're looking for fun and nightlife. The older woman doesn't speak English so she'll communicate with her daughter on the phone and it can get noisy with people talking outside.

This was on the other side of Korcula but we had a great time nonetheless. Vela Luka is more authentic in the sense that we were the only tourists in town. Manuela is a kind person and VERY hospitable. I am glad I stayed at Hostel Manuela

Other than that though nice clean beds with air con, good location. no frills though, i think the price is a bit expensive (and be aware if you book online and pay 10% as she the mom charges full price anyway). Vela Luka there is not much to do but i strongly recommend Proizd island for a daytrip - beautiful.close

Doesnt express clearly enough that its in Vela Luka, NOT in Kocula. Also, its not a hostel, the tourist Info people and other hostel owners are really pissed off with them.

Manuela´s mother was very friendly and tried to be helpful but if they are going to offer rooms with private ensuite they should have them ready. As it was the room then offered was fine except it was dirty and smelly. A little more cleaning and there would not have been a problem.close

A good basic apartment down stairs with a patio. Nicer rooms inside the main house with large kitchen. Extremely friendly owner, but speaks little English.

Not really a hostel but more a guesthouse. Manuela was friendly however charges more then what's advertised on hostel world. The place was clean and facilities good.
