The huts were ok quite clean but the beds were the hardest we had in our travels and we found some hard beds! David the manager was a top bloke though and did his best to inform us of what activities to do.close

Not only had he rented out our intended Bungalow to someone else eventhough that we had tried to contact him in advance to let them know we would arrive on the last ferry. It was impossible to contact him by phone and once we arrived in the evening it looked completely closed down-no person around anywhere and dark. 2 persons arrived later who knew how to contact the owner on the phone , they really did not care about where we would stay and just sat down and watched tv and the owner just said too bad , I have already let it out to someone else. Very rude people. After walking in the dark we however found a very friendly place to live called SAN SUK bungalows. Big hug to the english guy Micke and his girlfriend Oj that took care of us! Lot of other people we meet had experienced the same with Bailan before so be aware!close

The huts are clean and well maintained and the family running it are very nice. However, we arrived in low season and we felt we were the only tourists in the area. The area is pretty but with not much of a beach and you need a 20 or so minute ride to find a decent one.

A nice place, however it should be noted that the place charges per person and not per room.

Bit dissapointed with the price (when buying online, much cheaper to just call and book the room and negotiate a rate when arriving). There are quite a lot of bungalows in the area offering the same service for much cheaper. No hot water in the bungalow as advertised, rooms are quite small, but clean and the bathroom is clean. Private beach is very rocky and really only swimable in the morning. Really didnt find this hostel value for money although nice.close

Be careful to BYO toilet paper - this was the only place in my travels that didn't supply it. Thailand's notoriously hard mattresses are well represented here.close

had a really good time at the bungalows , the staff are really friendly and helpful you just have to ask for anything you may need and nothing is to much trouble . I cant praise this place enough and we will certainly stay here again if we come back to koh chang .

I think what made this place great was the friendliness and helpfulness of Ned and his friends. We were made to feel very welcome. He even took us fishing for squid and cooked them up for us. If you want a small place with a personal feel then this is the place.

This whole island is amazing, just get there soon before it becomes a tourist trap like Samui. Dave's place is ace, got it's own little beach and if you ask him he'll take you fishing with his friends for a few baht.
