The location is not that central, but there's a good train connection to the centre (about 180 yen) and it's a lot more central than the other hostels in Kobe. Sakefactories nearby, free sake tasting..jeej! Would definately recommend this one!close

This was a really well run Hostel with friendly, helpful staff. It is definately one of the best I have stayed in and I would recommend it to others. It is also well priced and the location is ok as you can get the train into the centre of Kobe easily.

I loved this backpackers, but its not in the centre of Kobe, and using my JR pass and arriving at Shin Kobe, had to get 2 more local trains to get to it. The staff are amazing though and its very clean with free internet. Kitchen and living areas were very homely.

it's our first stop in Japan. It's not in the commercial center. You can really see the People, the community. Luckily, it's our first impression of Japan. Though you need to transfer via bus or metro to get the place, it's really worth. They have a nice living room and kitchen. It's a very...

This was my first hostel, so I didn't really know what to expect. I was there for six nights, and every night was different, based on who else was staying there. If I'm ever back in Kobe and need a place to spend the night, I would consider staying at Kobe Dears again.

Very clean, very comfortable hostel with plenty of cleaning facilities that were convenient to use. A little hard to get to, and not a place where I bonded with too many of backpackers, but I had a good time and a relatively safe place to stay.

I'd never been in such a small hostel, but it really gave you the chance to meet the other people in it. It was like a friend's house more than anything. The owner even gave us his home number to help us if anything was needed. It was a lot of fun, with good beds and we got free internet! And...

Make sure you catch the recommended train line otherwise you will get lost. It is about 15 minute walk to the hostel but once you get there it is a really great place, with free internet.

Excellent little hostel, not hard to find! Friendly staff, clean and tidy rooms. Internet access available too. Only thing to watch out for is the check-in times - they are shut outside of them so you might be sitting outside for a while!

Overall a great place; the location is residential so it's a bit removed from downtown. However, it's a nice place and the staff is friendly. Watch out for the Kobe train system, it's the worst in japan!

I enjoyed my stay at Kobe Dears. Everything is good and wonderful except for one slight problem - it's located a bit far from the station..But still, you might enjoy the walk with nice scent of sake in the air as there're several sake breweries in that area. :-)
