Family run hostel where a warm welcome awaits the visitor. Situated off the square in Kilrush Heritage Town, Katie O Connors is the ideal base from which to tour the West Coast. Parts of the building date back to the 18th century. Open fire in dining area. There are also free hot showers!!!

We had to store bikes and the door where they were was kept open sometimes. But the rest was ok!

Mary was very nice, greeted me at the door, and saw me off. I couldn't stay my full time, and she didn't charge me for having to leave.

When I arrived at the hostel I was told it was closed - even though I had made a booking. I was allowed to stay, but I was the only one there. - not much fun. Rooms were terribly cold, and the drainage in the shower needs to be fixed.

It was closed for the season when I got there. Always call ahead before showing up. The owners do live 2 doors down and were nice enough to allow me to stay in one of the rooms.

A nice place to get away from any sort of city and indulge in a smalltown feel. Very out of the way and hard to get to other things.
