The lake walks are relaxing and can be quite enjoyable. On hot Summer days a dip in the lake can be risky as the water never seems to heat up, however lying on the grass can quickly warm one up. This is a great way to spend the day, just relaxing on the grass. Sections of the park have wild deer which you can watch but I'd advise from going to close.
Muckross Abbey and Muckross House are attactions which are well worth the visit. Muckross Abbey is free to enter and can be very eerie at times. The House is free to enter also but donations are encouraged. Attached to Muckross House are the Muckross Traditional Farms. These farms are working farms and show how Ireland advanced throughout the ages. Well worth the small entry fee.
Like the rest of Killarney however, tourism has really made the town rather tacky and if not timed rightly, a trip to the National Park can be quite uncomfortable.
Other than that, it's an brilliant place to go!close

You can have a guide bring you round the house or you can just wander around the ornate rooms yourself. The Park itself is very scenic and there is a waterfall etc. You can get a horse drawn carraige to bring you around if you don't feel like walking!!close
