Kenmare is one of my fave places in the World to visit. It has everything.. great restaurants, cafes, bars, music etc. It is such a beautiful town, located in South Kerry right on the coast. There are many things to do there such as relaxing by the bay, going for long walks, hiking in the mountains, horse riding, golfing, fishing, just to mention a few. You can take a walk down to the pier to take a boat ride around the bay. You will not be disappointed in Kenmare... Kenmare is an excellent base for touring around the ring of Kerry. There are plenty of accommodation options from self catering, hostels, guesthouses and hotels. I stayed in Gortamullen Holiday homes just 5 min walk from the town. I highly recommend them. we enjoyed the region, the nature, friendly people. this is not a place for shopping or partying but for enjoying wandering in the nature and sight seeing and relaxing. |

used it as a base to travel Clockwise around Ring of Kerry. Highly reccommend doing it this way if you are renting a car and driving. Get going early and its smooth sailing all the way. |
