Although the dormitory room smelled like something rotting, the nightly dinners were great. Convenient, right by the Kagoshima-chuo station.

You get what you paid for. The optional dinner for 260Y is a good value - just sit down pay and join.

Very close to the station. Beds very comfortable and clean loo and shower. Small and very good hostel. The owners cook a family meal for all guests for 7.30 for a bargain 280 yen, lovely and a bargain not to be missed.

I stayed 2 nights, then went to Yakushima and stay another night. For the price, it´s probably the cheapest one in Japan. I can complain, but why should I, It´s cheap and good enough!

Easy to find and central like hell. There is only one shower and one bathroom and it is not the newest nor cleanest, but still nothing to be worried about. For the price you won`t find anything better and the staff is very friendly, the mother of the Hostel cooks for everyone every night and you...

A bit of a strange atmosphere - it felt like the staff were actually living with you which was a bit wierd. Location wise it was great though and very cheap, but only one shower and two toilets for the whole place!

The bathroom access and shower access are limited, but the rest is great! Like everyone said, the 280yen diner is very good. For tourists that want to try a real japanese home style meal, its amazing. It tastes great, complete meal and very cheap.
