First time I visited there on 26/aug /07. I never write anything before, but this time i felt they really deserve to get a place in your list. This is a family run haveli, situated in NAVCHOWKIYA, right in the heart of jodhpur old city, this guest house cannot be beaten for its food and friendliness. With its superb rooftop views of Mehrangarh fort, sunset, and the indigo-blue rooftops of old jodhpur. Amar niwas is the ultimate place to relax. Sunil and nina are extremely friendly and helpful, freely giving advice and recommendation on everything from booking a camel safari to upset stomachs. The atmosphere is informal, sunil is happy to come up and have a 'natter' if you feel like talking or you can sit and read in peace on a sunny rooftop, or a shady one if you prefer, don't worry if you have forgotten to bring a book, you will find something of interest in the small but comprehensive library downstairs. Amar Niwas has excellent home-cooked food, the menu offering everything from traditional Indian fare to wholesome western staples. Sunil or neena will happily rustle up a meal for you at any time of the day, but don't always expect it to arrive dead on time-remember this is a family-run home stay, and with a lovely young boy to take care of family affairs sometimes take precedent! This is all part of the Amar Niwas experience,and adds to its charm. Finally, when you reluctantly decide it is time to move on, Sunil can organize your bus ticket and offer advice on accommodation and sightseeing. So the next time (or first time, whatever) you are in jodhpur, give Amar Niwas a try, you will not be disappointed. P.S-Give sunil a ring when you arrive in jodhpur, (Tel.No-0291-2440974) he will pick you up for free in his car from any part of the city, so you avoid paying for auto rickshaw commission.close

Many Indian hostels claim to feel like home but this is the first place where we really felt like home the owners are a very sweet , friendly and helpful couple and make you feel very relaxed and comfortable. We enjoyed our stay very much and would definitely recommend.

very small room but the owner Sunii will go out of his way to do anything and everything for you. very personal place so if you´re looking for homestay, this is your place. food was good as well.

A very nice place to stay. We felt like home at once. View from the roof top is excellent. We'll come again!
