Went to catch with an old friend...ended up spending a week of total heavy metal partying in the best metal clubs i've ever visited anywhere in the world. Head for Bornova (uni district) for amazing nights out. Good security too with high police presence. A pleasant surprise on our trip. A beautiful waterfront promenade offered restaurants and parks. Cheap and easy public transportation. An affluent young professional population meant lovely food, shops, and night time entertainment. A massive bazaar rivaled Istanbul's. Refreshingly free from...more A pleasant surprise on our trip.     Is not easy to reach the center of Izmir, and when you find the hotel it is dificult to park your car, but the hotel is in a convenient place. It is a pity that the staff doesn't speak english. On the overall, a good value in an expensive city like Izmir.
