Absolutely loved this place- its hassel to get into verona and back but the view and the actual house are worth it- we got upgraded at the same price, the breakfast was lovely and the owners picked us up from the bus stop when we arrived each day. If you stay in verona and dont mind being out of...

Thank you, we were made to feel very welcome. A lovely breakfast was available at a time to suit us which we appreciated. We would like to stay at The Ducks again next time we are in the area.

If you go there by car it's perfect. The Ducks is situated in a little village which is really nice! You have a great view over the hills of Valpollicella out of every window. Mrs Buffi is very friendly and if you do not have a car she drives you to the bus stop in the next village.

very nice place, perfect service, beautiful views, very good breakfast, but quite cold rooms (heating not effective).

Beautiful up in the vineyard country about 20 minutes outside of Verona. Buses are reliable and Emilia, the owner, will take you down to the bus stop if you're there in the winter when not as many are running.

A very comfortable hosted homestay, fitting the needs of a family of 4 and another couple in the three rooms available. Lovely breakfast, and very helpful tourist advice for places to visit and to eat.

A wonderful place to stay - the owner was very welcoming and the scenery is gorgeous. Highly recommend the local restaurant/winery - we had the best food of our 3 week trip around Italy there. Only downside is that it's difficult to get to without a car - there is a bus to Verona but it's a...

When I eventually arrived at this dreadful place, supposedly 6km from Verona, in reality 20km+, after a taxi ride that cost me €40, I discovered that it was a top floor apartment of an old building, in delapidated condition, with two guest bedrooms, one already occupied, the room I was shown was obviously a childrens bedroom at one stage, did not have even a mirror, let alone a bathroom or facilities of any type, I was expected to share the bathroom with the owner of the property. When I requested to be shown the garden to at least enjoy the view and relax, I was told that there was none, and the owner directed me to a gate up the street where there was a garden. I found the gate and went into a nice enough garden, within a few minuted the owners of the garden quickly arrived and I was escorted from this garden, they explained that it was private property, and belonged to another B & B accommodation. The "Ducks" is situated in a hamlet which did not have a shop or restaurant, no bus service apart from one bus a day, very early in the morning! Needless to say I decided that this is not the idela B & B accommodation which it purports to be on the various websites it advertises, and I decided to leave, approx. 1/2 hr. after I arrived! I had to agree to have one nights accommodation deducted from my credit card, and luckily I had my mobile phowith me and thetaximan had given me his when he dropped me off - Ithink he realised how remote it was and that I would need his taxi again to get back to civilisation. So these are my thought on "The Ducks"! Verona. Incidentally, as well as costing €62 for my half hour stay, it cost me another €40 to get back into Verona so all in all my little excursion to "The Ducks" cost me €142! Absolutely disgusted would be "my thoughts" on the Ducks.close

If you want to see the Italian countryside, this is the place! Recently renovated. Breakfasts excellent and plentiful. Hostess happy to deliver and collect guests to and from the bus or from Verona on Sundays when there is no bus service. Minuses: You really need to have a vehicle to stay here as the bus service is several kilometres away and does not service the area all that frequently and stops early. Located above a seven day a week popular bar which had very loud, live music most nights. Our twin bedroom had beds that were really for children and the bedroom was cluttered with children's toys, etc. leaving little space for luggage or movement. We noticed that the double rooms available were of much superior standard, yet the same price as we paid. We shared a bathroom with the hostess.close

This obviously meant the saving from staying this far out was not as much as we thought it would be. But the landlady was lovely, very helpful, gave us lifts to bus stops and even went out to get us a pizza when all local eateries were closed on Mondays! It is an exquisite place but a car would be more convenient and also, if no car, don't plan on getting anywhere fast during the weekend or after the opera!close
