    For 6 Euro, you can visit the Dome seperate from the Church. I recommend you go early in the morning it opens at 8:30am. The lines get long and the day gets hot. It is not air conditioned in the dome and can get quite hot climbing all the stairs.

    The masterpiece of Brunelleschi, the cupola (dome) consists actually of two domes, one inside the other. He built it in that way to make the building more resistant and self-supporting. If you’re fit enough, climb to the top. It’s almost 500 steps, but it’s worth it. The view is fantastic
