Florence is a city museum where you can feel in every street the history of the Renaissance. When you will finish to visit all the magnificent things of this city, take a time to make a walk in Boboli ' s garden. It is in the Palazzo Pitti the biggest palace of Florence. In this garden you could find lot of sort of flowers, trees and sculpture.
Don't forget to take a rest on a bench close to a fountain. The main thing to do is going on the terrace on the top of the park to see one of the most beautiful view of the tuscany country side. It is really amazing. |

Boboli Gardens was absolutely beautiful. After walking around for a while, we just sat in the grass and had the most beautiful view. It was amazing to see everything inside and equally amazing to just sit and stare. |

Housed in what was the offices of the Medici family, probably the best art gallery in the world is located in the middle of Florences attractions |

When you are in a city sometime you need to go out of all this noise. It is the same in Florence. To find tranquility, go to il parco cascine to read a book and if get up early, you could find the market with lot of typical stuff from tuscany. If it is too hot, go to the swimming pool. I liked to play football with my friend. |

The world’s most important collection of Italian and Tuscan art. Try to get tickets in advance, the queues are huge, especially in high season. |

From this square you can enjoy the best panoramic view of Florence. It’s on the other side of the River Arno, cross Ponte Vecchio and walk east until you reach Piazza Giuseppe Poggi and then walk up to Piazzale Michelangelo.
Try to be there at sunset. |

It hosts three museums and also an important men's fashion show, Pitti Immagine Uomo. |

The masterpiece of Brunelleschi, the cupola (dome) consists actually of two domes, one inside the other. He built it in that way to make the building more resistant and self-supporting.
If you’re fit enough, climb to the top. It’s almost 500 steps, but it’s worth it. The view is fantastic |

It’s a nice and strange bridge, there are buildings and shops on it (real shops, not stands and stalls). If you like silver and gold, cross it. You will find plenty of typical jewellery shops on this bridge. |

The Uffizi Gallery is the oldest art gallery in the world and dates back to the 16th century. Home to the world's greatest collection of Florentine and Italian art, it is also Italy's most important art gallery. Botticelli's 'The Birth of Venus' is its most famous painting. Watch out for the queues though! |

Botanic Gardens (closed last Monday of month) are huge, with a few exhibitions. There are some nice sculptures dotted around and it is very well mantained. It is really quiet which if you want to winddown after a morning of sighseeing. However, not much in the way of flowers or regional gardens, and we only found 1 spot to chill out by the fountain. If you have spare time do it if not leave it |

2 routes, the tour is well worth doing. Brings you to all the main places. If you've limited time it is perfect. Take it from the central station and your ticket is for 24 hours. My favourite stop was Michelangelo Sqaure, it has amazing views of the city |

Get there before sunset and find you a place to sit with your friends just like many italians do (can't explain it properly in English.. just look at the picture that you'll understand) drinking some wine and watching the river arno going by :) |

I had never heard of these rooms before and walking through them was very interesting. Michael our guide did a great job and it was nice to be part of a small group. The Gelato tasting was good after as well. |

When the relentless beauty of Florence becomes too much, find solace in the exquisite gardens overlooking the city. Take a stroll, a picnic and a loved one and relax... Beautiful. |

For 6 Euro, you can visit the Dome seperate from the Church. I recommend you go early in the morning it opens at 8:30am. The lines get long and the day gets hot. It is not air conditioned in the dome and can get quite hot climbing all the stairs. |

One of the many cathedrals/churches of architectural significance in the city- this one is a must on most city tours. Its one of the city's larger churches & as such hold loads & loads of art work. Do expect the crowds though as a lot of tour groups stop here. |

This is a really impressive cathedral. The art work is breath taking. Fab views can be had from the top- although It a steep climb & not or the faint hearted.
Loads of tour groups are here so expect queues on the tiny stairs. We also found that there were loads of tour groups there while we were there which did get on your nerves a bit.
Its also a shame that higher up in the cathedral students have graffitied the walls. Only other down fall is that as with all sites in Florence there is a fairly steep entrance fee & a grumpy cashier asking for the money. |

This museum famously houses the Statue of David & no trip to Florence would be complete without seeing this sculpture. The museum as a whole is very entertaining with loads of different art work. The only down fall is the queues to get in- these are e real nightmare! But its all worth it when you step into the gallery & catch your first glimpse of the statue at the end of the corridor. |

The Segway Tour of Florence was one of the highlights of our trip to Italy - was suprised how quick we all mastered the controls , great idea to have rain macks available for odd shower. We will definately use the Segway again - our tour in October only 2 Adults 2 Teenagers , great way for teenagers to see Florence. |
