Upon our arrive to "Hotel Ferdy" (which was called Euro Student Hostel when we arrived) we immediately were unimpressed by their lack of organization and complete disregard for our well being. We over paid by at least 40 euro, and upon confronting the management about it, said he would only pay us back 20, which we never received. On our third night, to my horror, I was completely covered with bed bug bites, and two of the critters on my arm. But there was a real sense of community, mostly because everyone comes together to complain. And the location is great, because it literally is around the corner from the Uffizi. We met some great people, but for the price (which there are about 10 euro a day hidden charges so look out) I would advice anyone to find somewhere else in Florence.close

DO NOT BOOK THIS HOSTEL! It no longer exists and you will lose you're money. I booked for a night, went there, and no one answered the door and I had to find a different place.

It looks like an appartement that was converted into a "hotel" I would actually call it a hostel. It was on the top floor of the building, which wouldn't have been a problem but the lights didnt work in the hallway so we had to feel our way up the stairs and the front door didn't actually lock. Internet access was an very nice internet cafe two blocks down and one street over. We didnt get towels or security lockers. And there weren't any telephone or fax facilities actually in the hotel they were in the internet cafe also. One of the toilets would have been better suited to a camper than even a hostel. If you even attempted to shower in there you couldn't turn sideways it was so small. We got what we paid for considering all the other hostels in town were more expensive but definatly not what it looks like on the hostel world site. The one staff memeber we saw was kinda sketchy and asked us to specifically make good comments on hostelworld. Which makes me think that they knew it wasn't all on the up and up because if it was they would have just asked us to make comments. My friend and I have stayed in other hostels that were WAY better and felt safer than we did in this one. We've been staying in hostels during breaks throughout the year and this was definatly the worst one yet.close

This hostel had a very friendly staff and was perfectly located near everything I wanted to see, especially the David. I had reservations to the accademia and when I looked on the map I saw that I was literally two blocks away .. This hostel made it possible to see all that I wanted to see in...

You don't choose this hotel for its coziness, but to be right in the middle of Florence and at a good price too. Beware: Have your reservation confirmed and reconfirmed as there is never anybody at the reception except one or two hours in the morning.

The communal bathroom was cleaned once a day. Very often it was a swimming-pool. Not the best place for a quiet night. As most of the time there was no one at the reception room, nobody stopped the noise made by some of the guests who, more than once, arrived at 2 a.m. Besides, the receptionist herself once arrived at midnight and switched on the tv full volume. Not very respectful. The hotel is an old house and with the money they charge they could at least change the room doors, because nobody seemed to manage with the keys. The good thing about the hotel is the location. Very close to the historical site. There is a nearby supermarket and a little sort of italian fast food place where they serve delicious food, very goog value! Maybe this is an average hotel but I wouldn't go back.close

The girl that works here is incredibly kind, and the hostel is in a fantastically quiet location. It is a 3-4 minute walk to the Duomo, which is the center of Florence so you are in the heart of everything! We have no complaints!

I really enjoyed my stay here. It is walking distance from the Duomo and has a more homey, hotel-y feel. I would recommend this facility. The only thing it really lacks is the young, energetic atmosphere of dorm style hostels. This is not the place to go if you are looking to meet people.
