When we went to pay, there was no "change," so we lost three euro for no reason. Unacceptable.

What a great find! After staying at a hole-in-the-wall apartment in Rome, this inexpensive one-star hostel was wonderful. Stayed with two friends in a triple, had our own bathroom. Everything was very clean, good location, friendly staff, awesome breakfast! I would stay here again

Very pleased with our stay here! It was what you would expect for a one-star hotel, but we found the room fairly clean and a perfect location. The free breakfast was nice. The rooms are however noisy.

The room was exactly what one would expect for the price. The website mentioned that there was parking available, however upon arrival at the hotel we were told that there was a parking agreement with a nearby lot for Euro18 per day. The website was very misleading as we believed parking would...

Perfect location right near the Michaelangelo's David, friendly and informative staff, very nice clean and simple room. Very good value for money for a budget hotel. The stairway was not a problem for us as we only had small amount of luggage, but would not recommend for anyone with lots of heavy luggage, as its a long climb up (then again, you only have to do it when you arrive and when you leave). Our toilet didn't flush when we first arrived, but mentioned it to the staff and they fixed it straight away. No TV in the room was a shame, but you get what you pay for, and since we were out sightseeing all the time this was not a problem for us. Really appreciated the early check in, and maps and information supplied by the staff. Overall a very enjoyable stay and would definately choose to stay here again if back in Florence.close

If you are in rooms 2,4,6 or 8, the noise due to traffic on the road is disturbing in the night.

Very nice and clean. Only problem for us 'older' people with luggage was the stairs, otherwise it was fine.

Something was wrong with the room we reserved so the manager transferred us to Hotel Derby. Hotel Derby kicks ass. It's very close to the train station, is very clean and has a roof-top patio with a panoramic view. Stay there.

Once I made it there and hauled my stuff up the stairs, there was confusion about whether I had a reservation. I was then informed there was a plumbing problem and I was a booked into another "better" hotel (2 stars instead of a 1 star). I had to spend another 30 minutes or so trudging back in the other direction to the substitute hotel. Although I appreciate the gesture in trying to find me another place to stay, I would have rather have been given the option to cancel and get a deposit refund. I also didn't appreciate that there was no apparent effort to call or email me in advance to let me know that there was a problem. The place they sent me to didn't seem very clean, plus it had bugs, mold and a foul sewage smell in the bathroom. I shudder to think what the rooms are like in the 1 star Hotel Colorado.close

It said on the hostel world site that all the rooms faced a quiet court yard which is why I booked it. This is not true and I was put in a noisy room on the first night. However, I was able to change rooms. Also my jewellery went missing there, so you need to keep things secure. But it is...

I found the staff here exceptionally welcoming and helpful. The room and the accomodation as a whole was of a high standard with rooms being clean and warm (we travelled in December so warmth was very important!). I would be happy to stay here again when I visit Florence in the future. Thank you.
