We found the staff friendly and helpful. The hostel is very clean and nicely furnished. It has good character as it is in an old tower. The only problem was that on Friday night the street below becomes party central in Florence. If you there to party it would be ideal but if you are on a romantic break as I was I'd steer clear at weekends as it is too noisy. It is a shame as its the only bad thing about a really nice hostel.close

This is a gorgeous hostel, run by gorgeous people, BUT the traffic/people noise at night means that sleep is almost impossible, even with ear plugs!

Great location making access to city highlights very easy. Andre and Sara were very helpful & pleasant. Good breakfast to start the day. No lift but otherwise, affordable accommodation.

A 1,000 year old tower ... what a place. and they cook you breakfast and they wash up for you! never a hostel such have I been! totally recommended. there are a lot of stairs and there is some outside noise, but it is joyous rather than awful. A wonderful place to stay. would go again in an instant!

It's a really cute little place in a fantastic location, but the staff aren't always there (which made it difficult to check in because we couldn't get into the building). Also, the door isn't clearly marked on the street or at the hostel door, so be careful there.

It's a lovely hostel near the main sights (Ponte Vecchio, Duomo, Uffizien etc.), so you can reach everything on foot. Sara and Andrea are great "hostelparents" and we recommend The Five Star to all, who wants to stay in Florence.

This is a fantastic hostel in Florence: great location in a historical building at a very good price and the hostel staff (Sara & Andrea) are really wonderful and caring people. This is a great choice for those visiting Florence on a budget.

Expensive room but not worth the price. The staff is patient but too many buts: noisy all day long (many pubs & restaurants downstairs, traffic noise..); problem with hot water; no air conditioner

Staff were great, restaurant recommendations were fantastic, best Italian food we had in our two weeks in Italy. Directions to the hostel weren't the best, and we got lost, but apart from that everything was fine.
