They did have a great selection of DVDs and sky tv though. It would have been a better stay if the staff had been more welcoming.close

Stunning location! views are breathtaking even from the bedroom window. Property is equally beautiful. We immedatly re-arranged our trip to stay for another night. The only downside was the mosquettos, we got eaten alive in our room and had to buy bug spray.

This place may be an hour out of Florence but don't let that put you off. Its a beautiful break from the city... Tuscan countryside, wineries and all that. and I thought Florence was pretty average actually. Brilliant

A twenty minute walk from the train station in Certaldo (which is an hour from Florence) is worth it. In a 13th century monastary in Tuscany. A terrific place to lay in a hammock in the shade or go for a stroll down a quiet lane. Or perhaps take a cooking class or a day trip to San Gimignano, Siena, or Florence. If you are looking for a place to relax for a few days this is it. Clean, great kitchen, relaxed, lots of DVDs or SKY TV to choose from!close

Beautiful setting, but the rooms were quite damp. Staff seemed disinterested and mumbled a lot. The hammocks were very nice. The breakfast was mediocre. Mmm toast. Biggest complaint was the damp rooms... made me sick.

Wonderful common area, really warm and welcoming environment, very easy to meet people (and such great people! There are some places which just attract really cool, fun, down-to-earth people and this is one of them), and the best staff ever. Security is not great - no locks on doors (at least in dorms) and no lockers, but it's not the sort of place in which you feel people might steal stuff, and I'm quite sure the staff could be trusted to take care of valuables. Highly recommend this place.close
