Loved it here. Has its own kitchen and internet that is free to use. The staff is extraordinarily helpful and pleasant and multilingual, far better than those at other hostels I have been at. For the price I would recommend this place to anyone and would be glad to stay there again.

This guesthouse is three blocks from the train station so, while we found the location to be very convenient (we walked EVERYWHERE in Florence), the neighbourhood right around the train station is a bit dodgy.

Great location, nice and clean room with a TV which I thought was great. The staff were friendly, helpful and welcoming. The five flights of stairs you have to walk up are a bit of a pain if you are carrying heavy luggage but overall it was good value for money.

Il Ghiro is a very nice place. Not many amenities, and the bathroom is shared, but it is very clean and quiet. Also, the location is perfect for checking out the main areas of the city and is close to the train station. Very pleasant stay.

The staff is very, very friendly and helpful, and there are guidebooks on Italy and DVDs of various types to entertain you if you get bored! The room was also very nice, and the kitchen and common room made for a nice gathering spot for the guests. The free 24-hour computer with internet access was a huge plus, too! Il Ghiro seems somewhat more catered towards a tranquil crowd (while we were there it was mostly older people and families), so I wouldn't necessarily expect to find a bunch of partygoers with whom to head out for the night, but if you want someplace nice, comfortable, clean, friendly, and peaceful, definitely stay here!!!close
