The Casa de Berbano is run by a lovely American lady who is married to an Italian man. They are very friendly and helpful without being intrusive. It is well-situated just a 5 minute walk from the centre but far enough away to feel one is away from noise and bussle of the main tourist attractions.

This was a great stay in Florence. For the price that is charged I doubt you would find a better place in the city. Very cosy, quiet and just about 10 minutes walking distance to the most central of Florence most importent sights. Our host was most welcoming, and more than helpful. Providing... more This was a great stay in Florence. For the price that is charged I doubt you would find a better place in the city. Very cosy, quiet and just about 10 minutes walking distance to the most central of Florence most importent sights. Our host was most welcoming, and more than helpful. Providing advises, help, offer to reserve tickets, and was doing a great effort to make us comfortable and enjoying our stay. The room is basic,but fine, good breakfast if you chose to pay a little extra for having it. A whole lots of books was stashed in a cabinet and open for us to lend, among them lotsa traveling books of toscana in english. I highly recomend this b&b if you go to Florence and dont wanna pay too much.close

We loved this place. We have been in Europe for over a month now, and this was definitely one of the cleanest and most friendly places we stayed. The whole 'hotel' only has 3 rooms, so if you are looking for a change from the busy and noisy hostel life, this is definitely a great place to stay.
