Anyways, great value for money and definitly would stay there again!close

Firstly, one of the reasons that I had booked this hotel was that on the webpage it informed me that stays of three nights or longer included complimentary airport transfers. I sent my flight details but when I arrived at the airport, nobody was there to meet me. I called the hotel from the airport and was told to take a taxi and that I would be reimbursed. When I arrived at the hotel, however, the female receptionist said she would not reimburse me because the rate that I had booked at did not include a free airport transfer. This was the first time I had been told this. Eventually I was reimbursed but was told I would have to pay for the return trip. Not very fair when it was the hotel who had 'forgotten' to tell me that the rates did not include a transfer. Upon check out, the same woman charged me a room rate using an exchange rate that was considerably higher than the rate that the receptionist the previous evening had told me would be used. She also wanted to give me my change in two different currencies. This was highly impractical as I needed the change to pay the taxi driver for the trip back to the airport (that was supposed to be free with the hotel room anyway). She was extremely uncooperative when I asked if I could have the change in the same currency. To be fair to the other hotel staff, they were all very friendly and helpful. But this one receptionist was very rude and unhelpful. I also resent having to pay what amounted to 50 turkish lira for the round trip transfer when the web site had informed me it would be free. The hotel was also extremely noisy. My room backed right onto the sidewalk and people walked by until very late talking loudly. In addition the noise from passing cars was also disturbing. The walls and doors were very thin and I could hear guests arriving and leaving constantly. There were some good points: Breakfast was fantastic; Also, the decoration and atmosphere of the hotel was very pleasant (more in the public areas rather than in the rooms). However, for the reasons given above, I would neither stay at this hotel again nor recommend any other travellers to stay there.close

The staff was friendly and accomodating. The location was a bit out of the way in Sultanahmet (5 mins from the Blue Mosque, etc.), which I found to be a real plus, though others might find it inconvenient.

Absolutely amazing place to stay with the staff treating you like family. Very helpful and hospitable and truly a great experience. Aijan and Mustafa the owners are absolutely hilarious and great fun as well. Tanju is the sweetest and the hotel itself is also fantastic and has everything one needs.

The best feature of Hotel Almina is the great staff. The staff are just wonderful and go out of their way to be fantastic hosts. They can help you make the most of your stay in Istanbul. The airport pick up is great as well. Rooms are very good value and ver well located.
