Skye is BEAUTIFUL but often very cold, gray, and rainy. A lot of natural wonder, but quite a hike to get to (from the rest of places you might be visting in Scotland), and less activity goes on there than at your local senior center. In less, of course, you're a fan of sheep tipping. |

The Isle of Skye is extremely beautiful, and a wonderful place to visit. The train ride over is the best I've ever taken. If you're in to outdoor activities, the Isle of Skye is the place for you. However, if you prefer to be in larger towns or cities with plenty of places to shop and eat, you may find the Isle boring. I recommend staying no more than a day or two, if this is the case. But definitely worth visiting, even if just for a day. |
