The train ride over is the best I've ever taken. If you're in to outdoor activities, the Isle of Skye is the place for you. However, if you prefer to be in larger towns or cities with plenty of places to shop and eat, you may find the Isle boring. I recommend staying no more than a day or two, if this is the case. But definitely worth visiting, even if just for a day.close

beware. People in this hostel are here to mountain walk and therefor there are A LOT of early risers!

Uig Youth Hostel 83%
The owner gave me suggestions of what to do as soon as I got there. It was a fun hike, and it really made my stay there a little nicer.

– posted on Sep 2008 11good place to stay but away from the centre of the island! It is also quite far from the city centre of Uig (by foot). You should have a car in order to travel on skye. I did by bus and I had to prepare carefully the trips of each of my days there because the frequency of buses is very (very!)...
