Isla Mujeres is a lovely little place that caters to tourists, but is nowhere near as commercialized/Americanized as Cancun is. There are tons of restaurants and souvenier shops, and hammocks and bars with swings line the beaches. It's real easy to get around on foot, since the attractions are mainly in a concentrated area on the north end of the island. A great vacation for anyone! |

Isla Mujeres is an island that american tourists from Cancun travel to as a daytrip. Plenty of restaurants, some too expensive. Plenty of stores selling touristy things you dont need... The beach is very nice, and it's an OK place to hang out a couple of days not doing anything else than being on the beach and in the sea. |

This is such a fantastic place to go to. Wonderful atmosphere, lovely lovely shallow clear waters, nice people and nice food and if you make a trip to the north side of the island you'll find long abandonded beaches where you can catch your own fish and have it grilled for you! |

It is very easy to just lie on the beach and do nothing during the day, then party by night on Islas - perfect holiday location, without being too overcrowded, expensive or busy. Enjoy! |

Depending on your length of stay and reasons for going to Isla will determine your level of enjoyment. Isla retains the small Mexican town pueblo that you would expect /want. Easy to get around by walking. Great north beach; shallow for kids. Choices of restaurants are abundant. THE PLACE to relax and enjoy the natural beauty of the area. |

lots and lots of daytrippers from cancun flood the centre of the city, which is not a very good thing. but it is a nice and relaxed place, you meet many other travellers, and a good place to relax and catch your breath after seeing many of mexicos ruins. |

Isla Mujeres is a super place. I was trying to avoid Cancun, and I definitely suceeded! It is very laid back, particularly at night and you can just mosey around or sit with your feet in the sand all day. Wonderful place for relaxing. |

I went to Isla Mujeres after my trip around mexico. So when i got there i hadseen a lot.that i just wanted to relax a little bit. This does not mean here u do not have anything to do. On the contrary u can enjoy the beautiful beaches,the quite,the reef,the nice people...and the party!!!! |

could be a little less touristic...it`s getting quiter after most of the tourists left by ferry in the evening. But I really enjoyed the island and the beach....I really liked the Pocna hostel |
