Description of Tra Na Rosann Hostel (Hostelling...
With stunning views of the coast and Tory Island, and only minutes from the beach, this hostels location is next to nothing. A quiet beach is about a 3 minute walk from the hostel and the area is magnificent for walking, swimming and cycling. Originally a hunting lodge and still a listed building, this, the most northerly youth hostel in all Ireland, is sited at the northern edge of the Rosguill Peninsula in an Irish speaking (Gaeltacht) area. It was designed by a famous Englisg architect, Sir Edwin Lutwens, and is well worth a visit for this alone. The area is a walker's paradise but please note that the hostel is in a rural location.
