After having known the city, however, I would probably have chosen a hotel in the pedestrian area of the city, which would have cost the same and be in a more lively and central location, with many little restaurants around. If you are looking for peace and quiteness, however, Derby is the perfect place. If you are planning a skee-oriented trip, then I would suggest to stay in Grindelwald and not Interlaken, since the nearest skii resort is 1 hour by train from Interlaken.close

   This is by far the worst hotel I have stayed in at Interlaken (and I have stayed in other hotels in Interlaken before). The rooms are very dingy, very stuffy without any ventilation, the beds are very uncomfortable. The room floor creaks all the time when you are walking. The walls are very thin so you dont have any peace in your room. The rooms have no window so there is no fresh air. The hotel is very far from Interlaken so its a pain to walk into Interlaken.close
