It was right on the river and had a great view of the mountains in the background. Definitely a family type place though.

located in a quiet area opposite the main station on the other side of the river. 10 min walk to the town. Good kitchen and big supermarket nearby. The staff are friendly but are a bit vague and disorganized, note that reception is closed between 12-3. A good place to stay if you are after...

The location is amazing once you realise that the Eiger is just on your doorstep. One of the canals that join the two lakes runs along the back of the sight and if nothing else the colour of the water is amazing. You can just sit on the loungers provided and watch the world go by!

reminded me of summer camp- small rooms, walking outside to bathroom/shower, picnic tables under a tent... room & bathrooms were clean tho! walls very thin, people next door were not loud but i could hear them clear as a bell. reception hrs suck: closed 12 -3:30 & close for nite at 7pm!

This place is awesome! It is right on the river, the best view possible! A great place to relax on the lounge chairs. The only bummer is that reception closes fairly early. Rooms are a little small but with the location, who cares?!

Really small rooms - you wouldn't want 4 people with packs in there! Everything was pretty basic - if you're really only looking for a bed then River Lodge is fine. Being next to the river with deck chairs to recline in - if the weather is good : ) Reception closing at 6pm was a bit of a pain...

Perfect for people who want to relax and enjoy the amazing view, but a little far from the party scene (15 or 20 min walk)

We can say this lodge is look like hostel. I was impressed with staff & their cooperation. We can also check our mail from hostel through internet but we can not use our drive for our extra task. To go to stage in this hostel batter to bring some dry food as well other light food. Hear is...

Hostel authority instincted me to pay more money apart from the amount mentioned by hostelworld receipt. But atlast after a cold war, I paid as such in the receipt. Be careful with this lodge.

Good kitchen facilities and cheap laundry! Also only a short walk to the train station which is great for early morning starts. Need to pay extra for a duvet if you don't have your own sleeping bag.

We arrived at River Lodge in the morning by night train but rooms were not ready yet. It is the first hostel(hotel) we couldnt check in upon arriving. Moreover, after taking shower, we want to keep our baggage but she said we came so late and the store man had gone away. How absurd it was! After 4pm, we took our baggage and wanted check-in, but she hepled us to take our baggage and didnt give us key and linen and gone away. Considering about not including breakfast and sttaf, it wasnt a good stay. and the price is expensive. close

Not a bad hostel, especially if you want to get away from the party hostels. Beautiful location on the river, but the four bed dorms are the smallest rooms in the history of sleeping! Still a nice hostel with great cooking and public areas.

The River Lodge is really nice, but it's not very fun. However, you can always get around this by catching happy hour(s) at Balmers and Funny Farm. Use this place solely for relaxing by the really cool river... oh, and it is really close to the Interlaken Ost station which is good
