The hostel was awesome the only thing is that there was a mix up and when we booked our hostel it was the off season so it was supposed to be closed we didnt get to experience the hostel with others but it was awesome and in a great location....deffinetly recommended

This is a beautiful hostel in a beautiful location... the only problem is that it is quite far from Interlocken. A taxi cost 40 franc and a bus 7 franc each way. There is a ferry through the lake to the city, which is beautiful, and you are able to use your rail pass to ride it.

The place is located 20 mins from interlaken centre, but the lake here is beautiful, just outside the room. If you are looking for somewhere convenient, this is not a good choice. But if you are looking for somewhere to enjoy your time, then lake lodge is great. A little complaint...the bed is...

You're literally 10 meters from the lake side with the most fantastic view I've seen in 20 countries I've visited. The 8 bed room was a dump, no sheets, and absolutely no people around in September. Iseltwald is a really unique and quaint place, so the hostel fit it quite well. However if you are planning on doing a lot in the actual Interlaken area, you may want to book a closer hostel as you will probably have to travel by bus every hour, and that can cost about 5 SF a person. A very charming hostel. A little lost in the middle of nowhere but the trip with the Ferry was nice! Be careful : It's NOT FREE for interrail holders! We had to pay half price of the expansive ticket... And it's too bad that the girl at the reception was so unpleasant...

Even though its basically impossible to get away from tourists, this tiny little town is definitely the closest thing to it. It would be worth buying a bus card or something because it is 5.60ch per bus ride into Interlaken. They will completely organize whatever you want...take advantage of this!

This hostel i well worth the smal travel. its just out of Interlaken, you can get there by bus and boat. The room i was given looked out over lake briezersee lake. It was a great place to relax.

Hostelworld doesnt reply to messages sent by customers. I have sent them 3 messages regarding a deposit that was deducted from my credit card, then the hostel or hostelworld cancelled the booking. Do they care about me???

Staff were really helpful, and the location is beautiful. Not central to interlaken but I saw that as a bonus. Its a great walk into town! Place was clean and amenities good. Would definitely come back again!

we had so much fun in Lake Lodge hostel. (the location was not that convenient, though) it has super awesome landscape. food in the restaurant was really nice, also. we enjoyed everything in Iseltwalt and we hope to visit again soon

Staff apathy towards travellers during check in, but otherwise the view from hostel is just like a fairytale setting. Also be sure to note that if you are ona tight budget, there is a 7chf bus ride to and from Interlaken per day if you needd to get out to see the major scenery.

Good points were the kitchen, the location, free internet and free welcome beer or wine. Also the bbq spot out the back. Bad points were you had to fight for the shower, internet and a spot in the kitchen. Also the private room didnt have a lake view. One staff member was lovely and helpful, the...

Beware lake lodge is a 5.60 franc bus ride from interlaken. and the last bus back is at 8pm so you are going to be in the small town of Istelwald. The beds in the 8 person bunks and shelvs with a 2x4 inbetween. However it is in a very beautiful place between the lake and the mountain.

Without a doubt the best place we have stayed ever in Europe, staff were amazing so friendly and helpful, we ended up staying an extra night it was that good. Cheers guys

It is strongly suggested the hostel invest in screens for the windows to avoid the problem with fly´s. It is a health issue when hundreds of fly´s are invading the kitchen and anoying for the customer. Flys carry many bacteria and land on your food. This was a great hostel. The only problem was the location. Actually not the location, but the ease of traveling to Interlaken. The buses are few and far between and stop running at 8:00pm. Other than this, this was a wonderful hostel in which to stay in a beautiful location.

This hostel was awsome! If you are looking for a relaxing time in Interlaken, this is the place to do it. They have a kitchen to help you save money if you're on a tight budget.

This hostel is not in Interlaken - about 30 minutes out - this is a good thing as there is not too much to do in Interlaken. There was an unusual bed structure that was a bit strage but all of the other positives made up for it. It also had really quick wireless internet. Note there is no ATM...

THe hostel is out of Interlocken and in Istelwald that is 8km away but an easy bus trip....watch out if you are arriving late since the last bus runs just past 8 to go out to Istewald.....Hostel is on the water....AMAZING VIEWS from window of room.....would definately go back

Had a ball here. Located at Istelwalt about 8km from Interlaken itself this place was awesome. Reccomend to anyone. Very relaxing with easy acccess to attractions and great beer garden overlooking the lake. Staff very friendly.

This hostel was exactly what wer needed... it kind of off the path a little bit, but it is right on the lake and has an amazing view. The staff was really great! They even went so far as to lend me their personal blow dryer when my adapter kept blowing the fuse. I would definately recommend this...

All around a great hostel, only issue is how far it is away from interlaken. The ferry schedule is terrible, only a few a day and is only thing free with eurail pass, get a swiss card so the buses are free, otherwise 5.60chf. Last bus is 8pm, we missed it and it was a 47chf taxi ride. Ouch.
