really lovely hostel :D warm, cozy and so cute ! we had stayed a room like an attic for 2 days which was good. only thing was the location that was not so close from the 2 stations, but they gave us a travel card we could use unlimitedly for staying.

Balmers is OK. Locked out of dorm rooms between 10.30 and 4.00pm which sucks and rooms are cramped and not locked at night. No lockers and kitchen is poorly equipped. Lovely town though, would consider staying in Interlaken again, though maybe not at this hostel.

Staff not always the friendliest. Feel like you are in a tourist trap staying there... staff always trying to sign you up for things. Way to many rules at night... they shuffle you from one room to the other... annoying as hell. OK place to stay.

Dorms are locked from 10-4, and then there is no key, they are open to everyone. Only lockers are located outside the kitchen in the cold, bring your own lock, they're secure because no one uses them. Showers are painful and pillows are tiny. However its a fun place, theres a lot to do. Nightclub...

Overall, this was okay. Security was not good- nothing to store your stuff in the room. Some of the girls at the front desk were rude when there was a problem. The Metro Bar was okay but still pricey. If you want to stay here, then I would suggest a private room.

Mr Balmer is a savvy businessman with a well-oiled hostel. However, the hostel seems to be too well-oiled and highly regulated, from the tight '6 minutes' of free internet time, to the 5 1/2 hours of midday room lock-out for cleaning purposes.

500 characters is not enough to properly rip this terrible place! false advertising, locked out of your own room from 10am-4pm, no security outside of that, cant be anywhere but their overpriced bar or your room after 9pm, facility has lots of potential but poor management, just a money grab

The front desk reception, particularly the brunette girl, was very unpleasant and not very helpful. She made us feel almost unwelcome--not a good start or finish to our stay. The room was small and had many rafters which gave us many bruises, but the atmosphere was nice.
