This city is exciting, plenty of things to do and nice busy atmosphere. One of my favourite big cities so far, the food is great and if you have money, there\'s plenty to spend it on. LKF\'s party is on the street. |

hong kong\'s ok but nothing amazing really apart from all the neon lights and huge buildings at night. |

Love Hong Kong (although I do have some family here) Great for shopping and lots to do for such a small place. Everything is incredibly cheap here. Trains and MTR are incredible easy to get round on (announcements and notices in English) Buses are little more complicated.
Would probably suggest using a hotel as locals really do not recommend the hostels. |

Hongkong is a huge city with a great flair, very clean, but you have to be well organized to see the city and get what you want in a short periode of time. |

Greta city, was in Beijing first so was really interesting to see the contrast. Loved the huge new buildings and infrastructure along with the pretty gardens and huge bay full of million-dollar yachts and old style Chinese fishing boats. Wasn\'t there for that long so I can only imagine there is much more exploring to be done but a great first impression of people and place. |

Hot and muggy weather. Pollution haze over the city. But, still, Hong Kong is a great city. |

Prepare a pair of confertable shoes. It requies a lot of walking. There are fences everywhere, sometimes it take a long walk up and down to just cross a street.
Also, Hong kong is a very expensive city.
Watch out the street vendors, they are pushy in the Tism Sha Chui area.
The nightly light show in the Victoria Habour is great. Watch it at the Culture Center water front. |

This hostel is small but clean. It\'s located in Chungking Mansions, in Tsim Sha Shui. It\'s great value for money. The staff are friendly and there is a tv in every room plus internet access. Chungking Mansions may not have the best rep but I\'ve stayed here on many occasions and felt safe. The interior is modern also. The locations is the best thing about this place, shopping, eating and transport are all on the doorstep! |

I stayed for three days on my way from Europe to Australia. Didnt want to do any partying or shopping. I found Hongkong easy to get around since all the information is avalilable in English. Also felt safe as a single female traveller (didnt go out at night and used common sense to keep myself safe) |

Booked and paid the deposit to stay here, however, to my disgrace when i went to check in they had overbooked and there was no single ensuite as per my booking! I had to sit there for one hour before they managed to get me into another hostel in a different block and for an extra $20. I had too do this as i was tired and it was midnight. Not good at all. I cannot rate the hostel as i never manged to stay there!! |

We paid for the premium double room as advertised in the picture...but upon arrival they gave us a small shoebox room...which had pubic hair on the pillow and a moulding shower. Ý've stayed in many places and this ýs the most revolting hostel i've seen. The owner will try and rip you off. |

Loved HK, very exciting city! Especially loved travelling by ferry between the islands.
A helpful note to other veggie travellers - I loved "Kung Tak Lam Shanghai Vegetarian Cuisine" - all dishes with egg clearly marked, and food was delish and cheap. Lovely restaurant with a great view, really clean.
Add: 7th Floor of 1 Peking Road, Tsimshatsui, Kowloon (11am-11pm - I grabbed the business card!). I ate in 3 different vegetarian places while in HK and this was my favourite by far.
Also can really recommend the Tai Chi class by HK museum of art - its free and a lovely way to start the day!
8am-9am on Mon, Weds, Thurs and Fri, or see the following link:

Happy travels!
