They should have a proper notice board where information like buses to airports and places of interest should be posted. Also their exchange rate sucks... the local rate is US$1 to HK$7.75 but they charge HK$8.2. So I dont think you should recommend their postings again!

We booked for the Travellers Friendship Hostel, and when we arrived they put us into the USA hostel, saying that they were all connected with the other 5 hostels that were all next to each other. I can't believe how highly rated this place was. Just awful- dirty, cramped, unfriendly, definitely just the basics, only really an option if you want the cheapest place possible.

I left some bread on the floor overnight and in the morning a part of it had been nibbled out, presumable by rats. There was also a hole in the corner of my bag. When I told the staff about it they were not at all apologetic and they did nothing to improve the rat issue.

The responsible is just a swindler. We booked for 4 nights. 1st. she insisted for us to take a more expensive room than agreed. 2nd. Probably the worst hostel ive ever stayed at. The location is excellent & the place is clean enough but there is no common area or anyway to sit or meet other people outside of your room. Bathrooms are tiny & 2 out of 3 we had didnt have locks! You're really only paying for the location.

A very basic hostel - did the job though. TV cable was not very safe - all of the wires were sticking out, and were stuck together with tape!

Unfriendly staff, extremely expensive internet rates, washing machine fees. The room is ugly, the bathroom isn't clean and the price is ridiculous.

For Hongkong standards quite okay, but we really missed a common room, though we had some great people sleeping at the same dorm! Don't be suprised if they give you an other room then you booked by internet.

I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a cheap place to stay in HK. I am a female traveling alone, and I felt safe staying here. It's not anything special, but if you are on a budget and just need a place to crash at night, then this is the place for you!

when i found this hostel in Chung king Mansion, it was.. so freak me out.. it seemed like to come out a ghost...;) but other things were so great. so cheap and i 'v met nice people in there. If you stay 2-3 days in HK , it would be nice.. do not expect too much of things.. just for sleep it's...

i like the location very much. it's very accessible via MTR and you could go shopping immediateky when you get down the building!i booked for 1 day, but when i arrived, i liked the place and extended for another 3 days.

it's a nice friendly hostel with basic facilities in-room. Every things around are just so closed to get to like restaurants, bars, shopping malls etc. Would recommend here if you are on a budget.

They are husslers. Thou two confimations, one of them emailed from the owner, we didnt have a room. We ended up paying much more than they originally said.

Room is clean but tiny. Do not have to worry and it's super easy to get away to everywhere in Hong Kong with the subway beside the building. The area around has lots of shops and boutiques, that's fantastic for me!

Aside from the building, everything looks fine for me. Room is clean and there are enough traveler guidelines from the staffs and also placed on the wall. Quite a pleasant stay.

As when i arrived there, the dorms are all full which the staffs made the mistakes, but they sincerely apologized and complimented me with the single standard room. Though the room was tiny and normal but i was impressed by their service. Thank you and i would like to recommend to all travelers.

We refused to even stay the night at the 'hotel' it looked like it was a run down crack den. Do not stay here! Spend more money and book into a real hotel so you're not murdered in your sleep.

Coming back again after 1 night in macau, they upgraded me to a single deluxe room for 1 night, it was really nice, kinda a world apart from the dorms.

It appears the "Friendship Hostel" is actually some kind of mix of the USA hotel, Garden hostel, and maybe yet another one. I dunno. The "free wi-fi" doesn't reach most of their rooms and ours didn't have an outlet either. The price is competitive, though and the location is...

It's nice to stay here with such a tight budget. i even got some discount to have stayed more nights. Overall the staffs are nice, though the building itself is not really clean but rooms are cleaned every day.

We enjoyed our brief stay. The only (slight) negative was that it was a little hard to find with the directions given. Including descriptions of the entrances and mentioning that you have to go right inside the building before you can see it would have helped as the location isn't obvious from...

it was fun to stay in the dorms meeting some new friends, though it's quite a big difference from those in the western countries. After all it was fine, the information is well noted so it's easy to find the place.
