-General Information We are the first backpackers Hostel in Hiroshima city. The building used to be a small Japanese style ryokan and we started the business in November 2006 after a partial remodelling. It is the second hostel after Kyoto managed by J-Hoppers Ltd. A 5-minute walk to Peace Memorial Park and a 10-min walk to World Heritage A-bomb Dome. Also nearest tram (streetcar) stop is a 3-min walk. Although we are located in a very convenient area near the downtown (5-10 min walk), it is very quiet around the hostel as it doesn't face a large street. -Guest rooms and common area- Most of our guest rooms are Japanese style with traditional tatami mats. Every room is air-conditioned and puffy Japanese style futon sets are installed. We have some twin rooms and 1 triple room. We also have two mixed dorm rooms with 4 bunk beds and one Japanese style female dorm room with 4 futon sets. A shower room and a toilet are not in a guest room. Toilet rooms are on every floor and 4 common shower rooms can be used for 24 hours. Self-catering kitchen with tableware, cooking utensils and various kind of seasoning and Dining/Living room are open for 24 hours, too. Many of our guests buy foodstuff at the nearest supermarket and enjoy cooking. In Living room, you can watch some English channels, enjoy some sorts of games and playing guitar, if you are a musician. We also have a nice patio where you can sit and smoke. The rooftop terrace is a perfect place to have beers (from a beer vending machine in the kitchen) with your travel fellows (open 9:00-21:00). We are very sorry but we don't have an elevator... -Times- The reception is open 8:00-11:00 and 15:00-22:00. Check-in time is from 15:00 to 22:00. You can arrive earlier and leave luggage between 8:00-11:00. The reception is closed from 11:00 to 15:00 for the house cleaning. Please avoid during the time because the front door is locked. However, you can open the door with the coed, so if you will be arriving at here between 11:00-15:00, please contact us in advance. Once you check in, there is no curfew and no lockout time. Check out time is 11am and you can leave your luggage even after you check out (please don't forget to get the coed for the front door, if you are picking up your luggage 11:00-15:00). -Internet access- Optical-fiber Internet access is free from every private room. Please prepare an Ethernet cable. Wifi is also available for free in the lobby and the common room. If you don't have a laptop with you, you can use one of the hostel computers any time for 100 yen per 30 minutes in the living room. -Location- About 3-4 minute walk from Dobashi Stop of tram (streetcar). Peace Memorial Park is a 5 minute walk and the World Heritage A-Bomb Dome is about 10 minute walk from the hostel. It is also very good access to Another World Heritage place Miyajima Island and Itsukushima Shrine by tram for about 45 minutes directly. The Hostel is located in very convenient area. City centre: 10 minute walk Tourist Information Office: 7 minute walk Post office: 10 minute walk Supermarket: 4 minute walk Seven Eleven (International ATM): 3 minute walks Take-out lunch shop: 4 minute walk Local okonomiyaki restaurants: many nearby About the access from the station, please see the direction page. -Staff- Hostel staff is composed by Receptionists, Cleaning staff and Night-watch staff. We have a excellent stance in a private room. It's a japanese style room, but really well done, comfortable and spacious in a cozy atmosphere. The living room is great with good fun. Besides the first night we had a free japanese diner party. Everyting perfect.

Outstanding place to stay; fibre optic internet, free drip coffee, gorgeous traditional style double, great location, tons of local information provided by the staff. I did notice, however, a few bites on me the next day—may be bedbugs. Otherwise, perfect score.

The best backpackers ive stayed at in Japan. Great location, great english speaking staff and very helpful. It was very clean. The only downside i would say is that the communal areas are quite small.

A good clean hostel in a good location for the main sights of Hiroshima. Incredibly thin walls so can be noisy. Has left luggage facilities but if you're using them make sure you take the code for the front door or you'll be stuck without your luggage between the hours of 1100-1500. Not...

This place is so popular I could only get a room for 1 of my 3 nights in Hiroshima. The optional curtains for your bed are a nice touch. I would recommend J-Hoppers highly and would book further in advance if coming to Hiroshima again.

Nice small hostel, very clean and stuff is very helpfull. I would reccomend this place if you are staying in Hiroshima. Only one thing is that they have just three shower rooms for all the hostel, so in mornings be ready for a queue!

Nice place to live, quiet and clean. Staff are really kind and the core of the city can be reached by walk (Genbakuen Dome, Memorial Park, etc.), althought it is necessary to take the tramway to go to the Main Station).

All-round a good hostel, though it needs to be advertised more clearly that check-in is from three o'clock. I unknowingly arrived at one-thirty and the front door was locked, so I didn't get off to the best of starts!
