Sitting in an qiuet location in a small street was good but it was a good 15 min walk to the real city centre. The staff... absolutley no comments about them... they where very helpfull in giving advice and in jerry's case booking tours. Guilin itself was a good base for the tours in yangshou... more Sitting in an qiuet location in a small street was good but it was a good 15 min walk to the real city centre. Guilin itself was a good base for the tours in yangshou en longshen(longji) but for the real backpacker fun its better to stay in yangshou or for culture and vieuws in longsheng.close

Not really a hostel to be honest; It has a common room, but that's quite small; Staff was very friendly, but couldn't speak very well English. Our tour guide Jerry though was very friendly and helpful; He joined us at the trainstation and gave us on the way to the hotel lots of useful tips;...

Handy location - only 15min slow walk form the centre and the road in is busy and vibrant. Pickup from the train station is handy.

Its a nice hotel.. they do say that they have wireless though and they dont. Not having hot water either should be mentioned on the website.. i had to wait 2 days till we went to Yangshou because the water was ICE. Staff don't speak much english but try pretty hard. We decided to take a chance on the riverside hostel as there didn't seem much choice in Guilin. It turned out to be quite nice, with large clean rooms with air con. The reception staff spoke little english but we could always phone a really nice guy called 'Jerry'... more We decided to take a chance on the riverside hostel as there didn't seem much choice in Guilin. It turned out to be quite nice, with large clean rooms with air con. The reception staff spoke little english but we could always phone a really nice guy called 'Jerry' from reception if we needed help. He seemed to run the place and was always there when we needed him. He WILL try to sell you tours however they turned out to be really good value and fitted in perfectly with what we wanted to do. The hostel itself is not much much fun as theres no bar or atmosphere to speak of as its more of a budget hotel however its centrally located next to everything you could need.close

highly recommend this hostel, Very clean spacious rooms-even with tea and a kettle in the room!! very friendly staff and super-helpfull and honest driver collected us from the airport, arranged all trips thru him-GREAT trips and EXCELLENT prices! stay here!!
