The staff own the business here and up in Tikal and Antigua so you get that extra special care. We had flight problems and get this, they drove us around town to travel agents and helped us out over and over. If our room was in a hotel it would be the size of a suite. The breakfast was fruit and the most incredible pancakes all in as part of the booking. The hostel isclose

They staff was also quite polite and tried to be as very helpful as possible. But sometimes they did not understand what I was saying because of their limited English.close

The guy at the reception had a bit of difficulty in getting our room fee right... Double-check the numbers.

Only stayed here for a night on my way to the airport, but excellent service, nice breakfast and good place to stay.

The 13th Zone is far away from the centre and is not safe to be in the streets late in the evening. You must take taxis and the average cost is 7/8 USD, which aditionally increases the cost of the lodging.

I DEFINITELY e-mailed to tell them my flight number but she said she didn´t get it so I wasn´t picked up. Isabel Is ery nice, warm and friendly, she cooks good meals and will make you dinner if you need it. She speaks little English though so that might be something to bear in mind when booking. Overall, though, a pleasing hostal with a beautiful rooftop.close

Great for arriving and departing/but a long way from the city center. Taxi from the airport shoud be only 20/25 Quetzles/not the 60 the authorized taxis charged!

Because it's their home, there is no key to the front door, so you have to bring the bell and wait from someone to let you in, but if you are not planning on being out late, that's okay. The bus from the house to city central costs about $0.15, but the taxi back costs around $4.50.close

Also near #83 city bus to airport and to center of city and Zona 1. Weaknesses - hard to locate on dead end street south of the airport in Zona 13. No organized activities and a bit expensive for Guatamala.close

All good, but not quite true that the hostel is just one or two minutes from the airport. You can probably walk in half an hour, but at least pick up and airport drop is included in the price. Nice pancake breakfast as well :)

I absolutely loved my stay here. The location was great, just a few minutes from the airport. The neighborhood was nice and safe too, I (a lone female) felt perfectly safe walking around. I also got a great breakfast in the morning!

I called from the (scary) Guatemala airport & someone was there within 2 minutes to get me, and my bike box. It was like staying with relatives--everyone was very nice, helped me assemble my bike. When some friends arrived late, they cooked us a late lunch. Drawbacks: Far from Central Guatemala City (off the map of my guidebook). I walked into town & tried to take a taxi back--my taxi driver had never heard of this place. If you're looking for a "party" you won't find it here. If you're looking for a low-key, homey place to get acclimated on flying into Guatemala City (or on the way out, you WILL find it here).close

My stay at Hermano Pedro exceeded expectations. It was my first night in guatemala and it was nice to have a really comfortable and secure place to stay. Friendly service and excellent accomodations. My one gripe is that no one came to pick up from the airport like they said. Overall, it all...
