Guatemala had alot more to offer than i orignally expected. The city however is not that great, not much to really see and do but is a good base for travelling elsewhere. If you visit Guatemala don´t spend too much time in the city...it´s not worth it. Also, Guatemala is an expensive place, more expensive then most other places in Central and South America, so when you come bring lots of money with you.     Nice staff. Its a familiar environment, so no partys. Very clean and secure, not very close to downtown, but buses and taxis are very cheap. Great food there.

    Fernando and Janet will go out of their way to make you feel at home. They will pick up at the airport take you around make breakfast for and be your own personal concierge for your travel plans in Guatemala. Cannot beat the price for what your are getting in return.

    This converted house has a really nice courtyard and great staff. The downside is that it is in the Old Town and all the nightlife is in the New Town. That said, I am unaware of any hostel/budget hotels in the New Town.

Especially if you are a Star Wars fan as part of Episode 1 was filmed here.
