dirty toilets. we pay for 2 beds in a 4 beds room, and we had to share the same bed; so in a 4 bed room we slept more than 4 people, and we paid for 2 people not for one bed. horrible! After this reserve I came bach to La Antigua and we didn´t sleep in this hostel. We found one cleaner,...

The company of other travellers made my experience at Jungle easier to digest as the staff was rude and the facilities extremely dirty. There was no tilet paper and we had to go buy our won locks to put on the lockers.

They do not permit you to bring outside food or beverages inside the hostel because they want you to buy their overpriced drinks and food. Other than that, it is a pretty cool place.

A nice place if you want to party, but the rooms are all built around a courtyard so the noise at breakfast time starts about 8.30am so its not always the most tranquilo place if thats what you want.

Having two toilets to cater for 30 people is a complete joke. After the fifth or sixth time you have to wait at the door, it gets very tiresome. The music during the day was so bad we had to leave the hostel when all we wanted to do was relax.

The breakfast was great and the beds were comfortable and free movies in the evenings are also bonuses. I had no complaints but I don´t think the hostel is as fun as the previous reviewers made it to be.

10 out of 10. And the free breakfast is incredible. Its not some stale bread and jam. You get a selection of 8 or so massive breakfasts. Constant music and movies. Friendly, cool staff. GREAT hostel.

Not very good food, but cheap. and I never got my free beer, because it`s only when it´s happy hour, and then you have to by 1 to get 1 free, and i never understood when happy hour was cause I was told different everytime i asked... but it´s still cheap and a nice place.

really chill place to come during the day if you´re staying here or not. Kind of pricey, but not horrible. The name is misleading though, there is rarely a party, and never a jungle. Overall great spot though, the staff is a blast.

Also the free breakfast is ACTUALLY breakfast, not just toast and juice, you can get an omlette the size of your arm, alright im exadurating a little but its still great.... more Very decent for the price, they have free internet, and a big screen tv that seems to be always playing some good movies. I just paid all money because it´s actually cheaper than what hostelworld.com indicates. its 50 quetzal(less than 7 USD) for both 4 bed or 6 bedroom. they dont even have booking record. it´s a great place but u will lose your money if u book through hostelworld. Just walk in. there are always plenty of rooms.close

They also have this amazing breakfast included in your price. The only down side is that it is only available from 8 to 10am and if you're like me, I had very little time and I had to shuttle to different cities and what not every time I was staying there. (I used Jungle Party as a home base) They also have friendly staff and a security guard at night. It's functional and cheap. Try to get in one of the 4 bed dorms if you want more privacy vs. the 6 bed dorms.close

I should have booked just one night and then booked the following night on the spot, then I would have been charged much less for the second night. One girl walked in one day, asked for prices, and came back the next day, and the manager had decided to put up the prices that very day. I heard others complaining about management charging extra for things as well. Nice breakfast included, but only if you book it the night before and you can only have it between 8 and 9 am- pointless for people going on early tours or taking language lessons starting at 8. Can buy it, but cheaper breakfast down the road (go right out of the hostel and take the next left). Nice and substantial but expensive meals other than breakfasts. Free Internet though!!close

I left with an overwhelming feeling that the hostel was trying to squeeze every penny out of me by means hook or crook. For instance, the exchange rate USD to Quetzals is 7.5 everywhere in Guate, however, in the hostel they gave me an exchange rate of 8.0! They charge a mandatory tip on food and drink, so if you want a beer from the bar you have to pay a 10% tip on top of what is not a very competitive rate for a beer. A tip to reach a bottle of beer from the fridge!! However, the staff were nice and helpful and the place has its merits with a nice courtyard out the back and free internet. It´s just a shame they rip you off in other ways which spoilt my view of the place. I also didnt like the rules poster which isnt particularly friendly (eg "keep your f/&$ing mouth shut at night"), nor the fact that this poster does not deter the cleaners and staff holding loud conversations at 7.30 in the morning outside the rooms, but then that seems to happen in most places.close

Very close to centre and clean. Staff too are friendly and helpful. It is overpriced for the area though...cheapier and nice places can be found. The exchange rate used to convert USD to Quetzals is the worst yet I have experienced in Guatemala !!

A great hostel, but it had better be for the price. It is too expensive ($15 USD for a dorm, high season) compared to places nearby where you can get your own room for half the price. I really liked staying here, but when I come back to Antigua I'm going to find someplace cheaper.
