had to cancel last two of five days i had booked because i got zero sleep. sheets were decades old, walls were paper thin, mattress was a strange yellow color. i{ve stayed at hostels on 5 continents, and this is the worst i{ve seen.

The price is a little on the higher side compared to the thousand other hostels in the city, but I was content nonetheless. There were a few double-booking issues, and in some cases guests were forced to leave early to make room for the new arrivals. It is bad business, but I hope to blame it on affiliation with too many independent hostelling reservation websites. Overall I was content at Hostalito de Guanajuato, although I would like to try a few of the other hostels on my next holiday.close

Really need to rethink the bathroom situation: one toilet and shower for 10+ people a bit much in morning and evening...

When you take the bus from the depot, tell the driver you want to get off at "VIPs" and then walk uphill three doors. Nothing to it. Also check out Barfly down the street.close

Its super (said with a French accent). Quite young and vibrant and warm mood to the whole place. And the house itself is very well decorated.

The staff was very friendly and accomadating. They made me feel welcome the first second I walked through the door. This place is great for meeting people all over the world and the location is great. Only five minutes away from the action. The only problem is that you have to share one bathroom with a bunch of people, but I really did not have much of a problem. Also, if you plan to go to bed before 12 a.m. you probably will have problems as most guests do not go to sleep until the wee hours of the morning and usually do not respect the 10:30 quiet rule. All in all, if I return to Guanajuato, I will return here.close

I was there to work, and they gave me all the space and silence i needed (and brought me chamomile tea). If arriving early, it's occasionally hard to wake someone up (5:00 a.m. in my case). Just keep trying: the place is an excellent deal, even if it is a pain to share one bathroom for everyone.

The hostel is nice and the staff are ever helpful but the sound carries far too much. Be it reception noise in the mornings or evenings or people in other rooms, there's rarely a quiet time

Smoking seemed to be allowed everywhere which made matters worse. On a positive note, Adriana was most helpful in everyway and gave us some good advice for enjoying this beautiful city.close

The bathroom door fell off as I tried to close it. It's still broken. The staff tended to hog both of the two "free" internet computers. I almost broke my ankle on some steps near my room because there was no light on and no sign to warn me off steps. My "private" room had a hole in the wall so I could see the people in the dorm. Also it was very noisy at night - the walls are made of coloured glass, so not very sound proof and i could hear every word that the people said in the next room. Also there are roosters outside that wake up very early. In spite of all of this, it's not too bad. I would consider staying there again. It has a great location. Guanajuato is such a great place that you don't need much from your accommodation except a bed.close

The staff are lovely and its a very friendly place which feels more like home than a hostel.on the downside breakfast is very stingy with only 2 pieces of toast and a cup of tea or coffee. There seems to be some inconsistency with their prices though so check at timne of booking.
